Great localization (3min to Turmstraße‎ metro), room (superior private) was big and sunny, beds were comfortable and clean. We met John during the registration - great guy, very helpful, we could always count on his advices regarding interesting places&clubs worth to see. As we didn\'t have time to visit everything we will definitely book this hostel again for our next trip.

A special thanks to Micael , a Canadian guy that work there, fantastic, always helpful and friendly. Very friendly also Jorge and Tobias. Forget about the strange German guy, awful attitude very unfriendly(i think the son of the owner that look at you as challenging, if you look back him he trembled)

me and my partner enjoyed out stay here. we did have a private room so this may have helped... the staff are very friendly and on hand to answer any questions, the rooms were ok (slightly dirty but at the end of the day it was a hostel) and the kitchen facilities just about covered what we needed. the shower facilities worked ok and the hostel is a 5 minute walk from a u-bahn stop so location was perfect, only a 30 minute walk from the tiertgarten. good for meeting people.

Worst hostel ever. Never go there. Everything is dirty, and when I say everything, means everything. Also, you will be received by a very rude woman who complaints about tourists in German, and that she shouts you all teh time. It is also far from the places to go out, and the people we met were mostly long-stayers who did, so that the mood to enjoy the nightlife was awful.

we had a great stay at John's Cozy LIttle Jungle Hostel. It was closed to the under ground and the lady was very helpful when it came to know what there is to do in Berlin. the price was cheaper than other place but we found the value very good. there was a bit of dust in the room but its a hostel! it had a bed and we had our own shower that stayed warm and didnt just cut out after 2 mins. a good place to stay when you just need a place to crash with a easy going atmosphere, we had fun:)

NICE LITTLE HOSTEL WITH WORKING WIFI:

The staff was always gone. Which was bad if you needed to ask any questions or had any problems. some of the staff where very very rude to me and other guest, they where not helpful and sometimes refused to even talk to us at all. Other staff members worked very hard and where very kind, I do apologize for this review reflecting bad on the people who do not deserve a bad review. As well the common areas where not kept clean the kitchen floor was horrible and looked like it was never been swept.

Good value for money, the rooms are a decent size. But there are no lockers in the rooms, despite saying there are on the website. Some of the staff were very nice, some were rude, particularly the cleaning lady.

I took this hostel mainly, because it was so cheap. But then I found out, how sweet it was. Full of lovely people, both staff and guests, inspiring exotic decorations, lots of information, games and a little kitchen, for common dinners. Good was that there are no bunk-beds, but normal single beds and curtains between the beds, for more privacy. Staff was nice, even while preaty busy. I found it excellent, specially for that little money.! My best hostel until now! Hope to see you soon again

Most of all, staff are unfriendly except one. it is not clean, and important: it does not provide guest computer for internet as claimed.

You get what you pay for, so I have tried to be reasonable. I did not expect 5 stars for 'no star' prices---but they could improve by cleaning---not just sweeping and saying they cleaned. (There is trash and a half inch of dust under cabinets and heaters in the kitchen, and cobwebs galore) ---again, you get what you pay for, but this is something simple the staff could do to improve the place---and something they SHOULD do daily. Good location.

One of the worst hostels I've visited. If you can choose another hostel, please do not choose this. Really bad.

Dorms are not too big and have no bunk beds which I liked pretty much. Atmosphere and staff is nice. It's close to public transport taking you whereever you want and at this low price you can perhaps overlook some dirty corners ;-)

The staff was REALLY creepy and unwelcome. The hostel was dirty and smelled of sigarette smoke even though it was a non smoke hostel.

It\'s the second time I come at John\'s Hostel, and I like it because of the indipendence it gives you. it\'s like being in a residence but in a more friendly mood, and I may say the best prive around to rest your bones. the only thing I may say is that in the single rooms ther\'s no shower and the free wifi is available only in the shared living room/kitchen. But it\'s worth it. Of course if you want an hotel with all its conforts or you are with your family this is not the place for you.

Owner Comment (Show)
Sorry - but it says on the website, before you book, that the single-room has a shower; but not for your own - it´s shared with just 2 other people (the 2-bed-room the next door)

The bathroom was very dark and could be cleaner. Though the bathroom and the toilets had different doors, they were inside a bigger room, which has a door that could never be closed. The reception desk was a bit risky too. Sometimes there is no one there and only if you call an indicated telephone number you can reach the owner. Still, the owner was very friendly and helpful. The dorm was quite ok and the kitchen had good facilities.

Sorry - but what you wrote here, is not the truth! Of course you can close the door for the bathroom and lock(!) it! Everytime, if you ring the bell, somebody is coming to the reception! Nobody has to call a number!
