Although JB is usually not more than a stopover point, we had a great stopover here! Dave (the owner) is exceptionally helpful and friendly (giving us directions on the local buses for much cheaper than the tourist buses!), and the guesthouse is located near to a main street with plenty of cafes and shops. The room and the guesthouse itself were nice and clean BUT the room we stayed in stank after chemicals and it was definitely not good for our health to breathe it. Even our clothes still stank two days after staying there. We stayed awake due to the smell until 3am before we decided to sleep downstairs on the couch.
Since there is no real staff in the hostel we did not have the chance to change the room. Just after we checked in someone stopped by for the payment.
