Great hostel, a lot of bang for your buck... really comfortable atmosphere and really nice staff. There's an awesome rooftop patio with some great views of the city, too. Also very safe, I left for three nights, left my duffel back on my bed and it was untouched when I returned.

The building is old indeed within a single site and for example the elevator walls are covered with cardboard and on each floor there are works in progress. Inside the Journey House we sat on the chairs and old routes but unfortunately it was not possible to lie down on the mattress, put them next because it was already occupied by a girl. The hygienic conditions of the room and bathrooms were embarrassing. We lasted 10 minutes before net to escape at full speed. Ah the wifi works.
Facilities are not great. Only 3 bathrooms for the entire place (and one wasn't working when i get there). The place is kind of falling apart. And Guangzhou itself is rather boring.
Journey house is a great little hostel in Guangzhou. Being a quick walk up from the subway and having loads of restaurants within walking distance makes the location tip top however where the place really excels is with the staff. Everyone working here is extremely friendly and very helpful, this gives Journey House a great atmosphere, almost like that of a close knit club house. Perfect for someone travelling on their own. Thank you for a great stay, highly recommended :-)
