Situated in the city centre and directly opposite to the extensive and famous harbor, our Youth Hostel is well placed for visiting Hamburg's traditional Fish Market (since 1703), galleries and shops - as well as enjoying the vibrant nightlife and seafarer romantic - the way it was once celebrated in the songs of the German crooner Hans Albers - at the famous 'Reeperbahn' and the neighbouring 'Schanzenviertel', a place of pulsing scene life.
Our Youth Hostel offers capacity for 357 people and facilities include TV, laundry, kitchen and meal services. From the terrace of our hostel, guests enjoy a fabulous view of the harbor.

Important: For a stay with us a Hostelling International Membership is required. International guests without membership pay a surcharge of 3,50 Euro for the first 6 nights to obtain a full membership for the use of more than 4.000 Youth Hostels worldwide. German residents can become a member of the German Youth Hostel Association for 12,50 Euro per year (older than 26 years and for families: 21,00 Euro) upon arrival.
Prices apply to guests younger than 26 years. Guests older than 26 years pay a surcharge of 5,50 Euro per person and night. All prices include breakfast and sheets.

Mixed dorms and double rooms can only be booked by adults, minimum age 18 years!

Opening times (daily/weekly): Open 24 hrs - check-in from 15.00 hrs! Check-out: 10.00 hrs!
Opening times (over the year): January 1st - December 22nd, December 27th - December 31st

Your reservation is valid on day of arrival until 18:00 clock. If you arrive after 18:00 clock, the reservation must be confirmed by you by telephone on day of arrival.

In order to confirm your booking, you need to provide us with full name and address.

The staff was pretty nice, but overall I didn't enjoy my stay. I stayed in a mixed dorm- the problem was that other than me there were only local middle aged(or older) man in the room, some of whom appeared to be living there permanently. It was very uncomfortable. Room was also very cramped, and therefore loud. Location was nice, but I think prospective guests should know the hostel sits on top of a hill and is only approcable by hundreds of stairs or an uphill trek from the park.
