Best place we've been to when we were in SA. Unfortunately we could only stay there for 3 nights. Next time it'll be longer!!!

What an amazing bunch of people! The atmosphere is relaxed with stunning surroundings, artistic finishes and beautiful music playing all the time. We were told about and shown really special local spots that we would not have discovered without Papa G, Mike, Henni and the staff. Great coffee, delicious pizza. Jungle Monkey made our PSJ experience magical. We can't wait to go back next year!

We only stayed one night during the weekend, but the owners were very welcoming and the other guests were friendly. The hostel had a very Caribbean theme and all decor was in keeping with the theme. Our bathroom was pretty dirty and the sheets didn't look like they had been washed, but cleanliness was truly the only negative about this hostel. The view was spectacular and the owners have four very friendly dogs.

All round okay hostel - not great but does everything well enough. Located a bit away from anything (make sure you grab your own groceries on the way there) in a pretty cool place in the trees, YOu literally see monkeys in the trees while eating your breakfast.

Hi, this hostel was in a lovely location and very pretty views. However, it seemed like the reception and bar staff were high on drugs all day and night, they were very disorganized and seemed confused most of the time.

Our second time back to Jungle Monkey. We came to Port St Johns for the 3 day trance festival at Amapondo Backpackers, but preferred to be able to dip in and out as needed. It was a great idea. Jungle Monkey is very laid back. The crowd is definitely on the older side. Great musicians took to the stage during our stay, and you get up and jam if you felt so inclined. Great pizzas. The Monkey View room is just spectacular - outside shower with a view over the hills and up the valley.
