It's a good option in Asakusa, 10 min walk from the nearest station, can reach Asakusa enjoying a 20 min walk south. Recommend the hot tub, you can reserve it for an hour, it's on the top floor and has a nice view of town. Good option in the budget range.

What a great value! I never knew that a private single room could be so inexpensive in Tokyo. It was also very clean, and the staff was very helpful. The downside, of course, is it's not close to where all the action is. However, if you're willing to tolerate any extra half hour of subway riding to get wherever you need to go, then this is definitely worth it.

This place... perfect! Though a bit "remote" from any of the downtowns for "foreign standards", this place has major things going for it. First of all it's extremely affordable but that doesn't mean it's you get what you pay for. Rooms are really nice, the common area has video games and enough space to comfortably host a dozen of people or so. The Staff rocks too! Very well versed in the English language and helpful at all times. Tokyo for more than a week? Juyoh!

Positive: Good location, close to trainstation, friendly staff, clean, free wifi and lockers, towels and kimonos included. Negative: horrible matrases in the Western double, with spiral springs trying to harm your body. So choose the Japanese style room!

I only stayed at Juyoh Hotel for one night but it was exactly what I needed. After several nights of staying in dorms, I slept in a single for the first time. The room was small but cozy, the futon was extremely comfortable, and the beer vending machine on the 10th floor was exactly what I needed after several days of travelling. The area is a little lacking and the hotel is a little far from the train but it's a good location if you want to experience a little bit of a non-tourist filled Tokyo.

Great hostel, and good location once you initially find it, which can be a little challenging. Rooms are clean, and private. Staff are friendly, though English at times can be challenging with some staff. Overall a great place to stay when in Japan and would definitely go back.

I was supposed to stay 4 days..... Finally stayed almost a month. This is how I liked it.

The hotel itself is very good - well-maintained and clean facilities, wifi available throughout the building and comfortable futons to get a good night's sleep. The only gripe I have is the location and lack of places to eat nearby. It's a good 20 min walk to the station and although it doesn't sound much, after walking around all day to begin with getting back to the hotel was a drag. Especially in the rain, while dragging a suitcase...

Please note I have stayed at Juyoh Hotel on nearly a dozen occasions - which much mean something in terms of satisfaction and certainly means you do not have to keep asking me for a review!!!

Showers on two floors only but very clean with shampoo and shower gel provided. Luxurious toilets. Rooms spacious but basic. Free internet downstairs. Long (20 min walk + subway) journey to central attractions.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The building is a little out of the way but the Tokyo subway system is so great that it really doesn't matter. The futon here was also the comfiest futon that I've ever slept on. EVER.

All the benefits of a Hostel with none of the common downsides. Juyoh is a Hostel in close walking distance to two metro stations, Asakusa and Minami-senju from which you will be able to see the whole city. The staff is helpful and friendly, the facilities are cleaner than in some 4 Star Hotels, the prices are very good for a city as expensive as Tokyo and you have all the accomodations you need in close distance. If you want to visit Tokyo, this is the place to stay.

This was my 3rd visit after 2009,2010. Everything remains good, w/ renovations for the better. Room is clean as always. Now u may not get tv by default, but u can request for one(not a problem for me).Showers is clean, n u can have a private ofuro for 300yen :). I'm already used to a little walk from the JR,but now the bridge already have elevator(easy if u are dragging big luggage).Food wise, theres supermarkets around. Bus from Ueno Stn stops directly in front of Juyoh.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. If one is also friendly and wishes to meet people from all over the world, Juyoh is an excellent place. The rooms are tiny but adequate, the (Toto style) toilets and showers spotless, and the 10th floor laundry and Japanese onsen style bath make it a no brainer. It is a bit out of the way in Minami Senju, but worth the trip, i think. This was my second time there, and after a time it feels very homelike and welcoming. I will return.
