Enjoyed my stay in a 6 bed female dorm and would recommend anyone to stay at Kex. Great interior design. 2 minor points of feedback:1.There were only 2 lockers in the room for us 6. So we all had to leave our things and just trust that it would be ok. No alterntive offered 2.The locks on the security door to the 3rd floor did not work and even after pointing it out, it was not fixed during my one week stay.

Staying in KEX is definitely a good way to make friends from all over the world. Their staff is very friends and you can book all tours from them. Was a great stay in Reykjavik with KEX hostel.

Very nice hostel! The only thing I didn't like was that I payed for the breakfast and I did not give me a ticket. Later on while I was getting food, a girl asked me (rudely) if I had already payed. I told her yes, and instead of communicating with her colleague at the hostel, asked me to go myself and get her the ticket otherwise I could not eat. That was very rude! Lack of communication. But off course, you cannot judge an entire hostel for an employee behavior. The rest was great! Thank you!

This Hostel is full of atmosphere and it one of the coolest places I've ever stayed. However, I did not know that we would need to pay 1000 Kr each for bedding on top of the bed charge. If the sheets were included this hostel would be perfect.

Not being able to check in until 2 in the afternoon after a seven hour red-eye flight was rough, considering we got there at 8 in the morning. The only major problem we had was the doors constantly slamming at all hours of the day... Those doors are really heavy and people probably don't even realize they are doing it. Overall, wonderful warm and welcoming hostel and loads of character and delicious breakfast. We look forward to our next stay.

Kex Hostel is the place to be in Downtown Reykjavik - I really enjoyed my stay there! The bar, the live music - it's really easy to get in touch with people there!

Quite unique hostel with its own character. Stayed on the main floor, this room had no lockers in the room, but it was possible to get a key for a locker in the hallway. It was a bit noisy and this room didn't have a ceiling light, only a standing lamp, which was not enough light for packing. Staff is great and hostel is good, it is just better if you get a room not next to the common room.

On the visual side common room and cafeteria are a big plus of Kex. But on upper floors showers are not so clean. Also - consider putting more staff at the reception desk. Every time I needed something from them I had to wait 10-15 minutes (even though I was first in line).

KEX is very clean, staff is helpful. Linens and pillows are about $8 USD but a one time fee only. Very clean and cozy linens and pillows. Rooms are clean and we had a great stay there. We would definitely return. Thank you, KEX!

Great view from the hostel! Bunk was solid. everything was good, nice staff. If the kitchen utensils are upgraded that would be perfect.

We used to stay for 3 nights over there. This old buiskit factory is really nice, very close to the city center. In the internet is no information that blanket will be extra charged with 1000 IKS (about 6 €). This wasn't a problem but not suspected. Even the braekfast isn't included. There are 2 kitchens in the house where you could prepare your own breakfast. But in fact we'd liked to stay there again and we will recommend the hostel.

It is a really nice hostel. Buses from the tour pick you up just outside the hostel.

Hostel was very clean and very close to the harbor area. Staff was super friendly and helpful with finding locations around Iceland to do things. The only gripe I can possibly come up with is that the lockers in the room don't have a lock for your gear, but I the facility itself is very secure. Highly recommended.

KEX far exceeded my expectations. Talented musicians played three times while I stayed, the bar was great and so was the food. It was a very busy place but I was able to sleep restfully even in the door which felt great as I was both jet-lagged and traveling alone. The location is great, it's easy to find, located very near a main highway and one can see the ocean from north-facing windows. An altogether beautiful building, the pictures I've seen don't do it justice.

Our time in Kex was amazing! The staff helped us out a lot booking us tours in the middle of horrible winter storms and suggested things we can do. Despite beeing in a 16 persons room I never had any troubles sleeping. The location was really near the main street and church, and all the tours came to our door to pick us up. We met some awesome people and had such a good time! Recommended!!
