Great, great and great! Very friendly and helpful staff, plus a perfect location. Recommend it!
KRS Pines Guest House is located perfectly for tours and hiking in the Cameron Highlands. The staff is friendly and helpful and recommends some tours to do in the Highlands. The rooms are very simple but the facilities are clean. Breakfast is not included but they offer breakfast at the Hostels (value for money).
We took a private room with twin beds. And that was it. No space for anything else, no hooks on the wall for towels. The walls are really thin and you hear all noises from door opening to neighbor snoring. I'm used to many different hostels but this one is definitely not a good one.
This is a good hostel for the price, located a 5 mimute walk from the main street in tanah rata. The overall security is good with 24/7 staff however the rooms are made up of one hall with temporary walls and doors in between, this doesnt affect privacy but the locks on the doors arent very substantial. Overall though we had a good stay here and would stay again of we were on the same budget.
The guesthouse was a good base for staying in the Cameron Highlands. Thanks to its location it was very calm. The restaurant in the house was convenient for breakfast. There was a good Wi-Fi connection in our room and in the common space, which was not even mentioned in the description of the hostel - this was a very nice surprise for us!
Good location close to the Main Street. Staff were all friendly and helpful. They haven't walked the trails though so their estimated times for how long the trails were wasnt very helpful. We went on two hikes and both were much longer than we anticipated so we were out close to dark both nights. Clean rooms and four shared bathrooms on the main floor.
Basic and clean room, hot shower was great but there was no fan in the room, I had to open the windows at night to let some cool air in, but so did the mosquitoes and small insects flying in. Nice garden, the staff were friendly and helpful, booked a tour with them to see mossy forest which was great. Overall, it's a basic stay and value for money.
This is a very nice hostel in cleanliness, large (very) rooms. A definite plus is the a la carte breakfast. The atmosphere however is more of a hotel then of a hostel. It's pretty large and there is not one common area, but several small ones, so you don't meet other people easily. You also do not see very much of the staff but there was always somebody when we needed help or advice. They helped us very well planning our trip.
