Pretty average, thin walls. Good: Clean, 5 min walk from town. Nice garden outside. Bad: Doors also had very weak locks, if one wanted to they could break in easily. Walls were in fact thin (think office cubicles that go all way to ceiling) and you could hear every conversation in the hostel (coughing, vomiting, etc..) and there were in fact dogs braking outside. On the other hand, we did not really have problems sleeping as we were worn out every day from hiking in a beautiful local.

The reception and staff were very good and we booked a brilliant tour with them. Although the hostel is in Tanah Rata close to food and travel agencies, it is up a hill and while we were there it rained (as expected in the highlands) and it flooded so that to get back to the hostel we had to wade through waist height water. We could not get to town for dinner because of this and had to eat at the guesthouse. The food was really bad and, although cheap, it was not worth the price!

The only down side is the slow wifi but apart from that this is a lovely little place to stay the owners are very helpful with any requests and are quick to help you organize a tour to go and see everything tanah rata has to offer

Small and tight rooms without locker for luggage. Room's walls in 1st floor are made from panels and therefore sound insulation is very poor. But place is very clean with very friendly stuff and good value for money.

An okay guest house. Paper thin walls so you heard everything you're neighbors were up to. Kind of cold in the night!
