kalulu was a fine place to stay. It is not a typical backpacker place. It feels a bit more African because of the bar that locals visit. It has all the basics of an ok kitchen, decent internet, hot showers, and they can help with travel plans. It was clean and people were friendly. It is about 1.5 km from the bus station and ten minutes from a big mall with a large supermarket. It was noisy one night from the bar but those in the back hear it less and there is lots of space to sit outside.
Kalulu Backpackers was the worst hostel where I have ever stayed. Basically anything that they advertised was not there. WiFi did not work, the restaurant was not operating, some of the staff felt bit hostile and the bathrooms were dirty. The bar is loud and generates a lot of traffic, which does not feel completely nice when the lockers in the rooms are not working. We had hard time getting our change from the payment back from the staff.

no breakfast include, no hot showers, kitchen no clean
The staff are generally friendly and helpful. No complaints. I just want to point out that the kitchen is a bit under-equipped so far as pots/pans and cutlery go. Also it would help to have a light outside above the wash basin so that you can actually see what you are washing up after dark. Likewise provision of washing liquid and sponge would be nice. The showers and toilets are in good order but many of the door need bolts or latches because the handles are missing. That's all..
