Thank you for making Kamesei Ryokan and our onsen town, Togura-Kamiyamada, your onsen stop on the way to snowboarding. I am glad you found our service helpful and that you enjoyed your night out on the town as well as your day trip to see the snow monkeys. Being only 75 min. by car or approx. 1.5 hrs. by bus/train from Hakuba, I believe our inn is the perfect place to get a traditional onsen ryokan experience on the way to or from Nagano's ski / snowboard mecca. Thank you for coming and staying at our inn. And thank you for your kind suggestions regarding the lobby's carpet and the faucets in the onsen. Please understand that we do replace the faucets in the onsen on a regular basis, but they quickly turn color due to the high mineral content in the onsen water. Most of our guests realize the faucet discoloration is proof that our hot spring water is real natural mineral water. And the lobby carpet is on our to-do list as we make improvements on our inn. However, again, most guests look out and enjoy the view of the central garden and koi pond, over to the warm fireplace, or up to appreciate the fine wood beams that our lobby is constructed out of. Not many people look down to the carpet, apparently, as this is the first time we have received a comment about it. Nonetheless, we do intend to eventually replace it. I am sorry our friendly service, relaxing onsen baths, traditional construction of our inn etc., failed to make an impression on you as much as the carpet and faucets did.
