Elena who runs the hostel made the stay, she was super helpful with everything. To get into the town or anywhere you do have to take a tuk tuk or bus as it's quite a walk but I would definitely recommend this hostel.

Well, the hostel doesn't live up to its name. It's quite of a trek to town center. There was only 3 peeps there including myself. The rooftop is nice. The rooms are clean, good lockers. Staff, Helena is great. It's low season and it pours cats and dogs when it rains, not the hostels fault, but just saying. I'm sure the hostel would be hopping during high season. I also stayed in their other hostel in Dambulla, same story, brand new hostel, clean... but quite a ways from town center.

We were traveling as a family and enjoyed our stay and the excellent and helpful staff. Thanks ! Only negative point: there was a lot of street noise from very early morning in the private room.

First and foremost the building is very secure. There's a large gate at the front and you have to ring a bell to be let through by the groundskeeper. Upon entering you instantly notice how clean the hostel is and the decor is great! The dorm was fantastic, each bed has it's own fan and there was plenty of locker space (one for each person). The communal area was definitely utilized and Sierra was most welcoming and very knowledgeable!

Sienna the Hostel Manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. She really went out of her way to help us get the best out of our time there so thank you! :)

Friendly hostel in a nice big house. Good atmosphere. Cramped rooms but luckily we were upgraded to a 6 person for 4 of us which was helpful. Well kept and clean hostel. Breakfast and free tea was nice. Probably the friendliest place we stayed in Sri Lanka.

Kandy City Hostel is a cute place, very clean and comfortable to stay in. Showers doesn't seem to have any hot water, but as I was there in hot month, middle of summer, I enjoyed the cold shower after having to travel in a hot hot bus for 4,5h. Staff is nice, the dog living in the hostel very calm and friendly too. It's a perfect place to stay in Kandy - don't hesitate to book the room even now.
