Where to start, We walked into the hostel that smelt like a bottle of wine and cigarettes. The girl working there had no idea we had booked online and couldn't keep quite about how hungover she was and that they didn't have any beds available. The place was a state absolutely filthy and terrible communication. After waiting 40 minutes for the house manager to turn up we left as there was no show of him. We were absolutely disgusted with the place.

I'm sorry about that Zoe, this was actually the weekend that I left and there was a temporary manager. Things are normally under better control. Enjoy the rest of your journey! Shane :)

A really cosy and small hostel that makes you make friends very quickly with everyone staying there. The manger Shane is really friendly and makes the stay even better.

Awsome place to stay, very accommodating and friendly. Free breakfast and wifi is a massive bonus, close to the city but at enough away if you are wanting a quiet stay.

My favourite hostel in Sydney. It's small, clean and very friendly. The manager, Shane, is very accommodating and helpful. A great place to stay, either short term or long term. 10/10

When I was there the hostel had a real laid back student-flat feel to it. The manager Shane went out of his way to show us around town and even gave up an afternoon to drive and guide us around the Blue Mountains! The kitchen was a bit on the small side and not particularly well equipped, but overall it was a friendly place to stay and well priced. Free wifi and breakfast were both good. This is also the only hostel I've come across in 7 months of travelling to offer free use of their laundry washer and dryer!

On arrival I rang the doorbell several times, got no answer. Called the phone number on the confirmation, got no answer! Eventually the manager answered with no shirt on, clearly having just woken up. The place was a disaster! Broken beds, filthy plates all over the kitchen and dining area and dog mess on the bathroom floor! Manager didn't even know who was sleeping in which beds in which rooms and my friend was accused of stealing someone else's bed! Would never, ever go back!!

Thank you for those kind words, Yes we are a little hostel. We are a terraced house in beautiful Surry Hills. We are in a residential area and have 5 bedrooms and can accommodate about 30 people at a time. As we are so small we have one live in manager who does need to sleep from time to time - sorry about that! Yes unfortunately someone bought a dog into the hostel and it made a mess - disgusting - which is why I promptly had both removed from the hostel. I am sorry you had to see that because obviously we have rules which seem to get broken from time to time. You also arrived on New Years and the place was kind of crazy - I had several empty beds over xmas because people booked with us a year in advance and many of them never showed - This is why we do not accept booking such as yours anymore for this period of the year. Sorry you had a bad experience
