I wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone on a short stay looking to meet friendly people up for holiday fun. It is full of cliquey long term residents who have no interest in befriending people on a short stay and lots of \'hostel politics\'. Great Hostel to stay in if you are looking for a friendly atmosphere in which to meet people. Hostel is in a quieter area of Sydney (surrey hills) which is quite a pleasant area to be in and is only a 10 min bus trip into centre of city. Staff great fun and try to make the hostel as friendly as possible. Stayed in Kings cross after this hostel as could not extend, kings cross not to pleasant and hostels not as good imo. The best part about Kangaroo was the friendliness. We felt at home right away & everyone got along so well. Really Amazing Hostel! I've stayed in many hostels on my travels down the east coast, but have never been somewhere with a more warm welcome, amazing staff and friendly guests.. All of the rooms are very clean and well air-conditioned as well as having excellent bathroom and kitchen facilities. I would recomend this hostel to anyone planning on staying in Sydney. Its in a great location for going to the beach, commuting to the city, and finding great restuarants and bars. Sweeeeeet!Really Amazing Hostel! Kangaroo BakPak is the best hostel i\'ve stayed in! Excellent staff, friendly and welcoming. There\'s always something to do there. The location is great, whether you want to go to the beach, the city or check out the nightlife. And every now and then there\'s free apple crumble :) I would definately stay again!
