The staff at Kangaroo Guesthouse were friendly and helpful (if you arrive late, just ring the doorbell). The rooms were cleaned daily, which was an unexpected perk for a hostel. The beach is about a five minute walk away, and the neighbourhood wasn't too noisy although one night there was loud music from the reggae bar across the street. Overall, its a decent place to stay in Karon Beach.
