Richard and I had a wonderful weeks stay at the Hostel. We give the Karibu Hostel, two thumbs up! Friendly people, a safe enviorment, and a comfortable atmosphere to relax in.

Myself and my daughter enjoyed our stay with Mama Sam and loved Christinas beautiful cooking! We also enjoyed the company of interesting Spanish volunteers working for Mama Sams school project "Born to Learn", and we were able to visit this interesting project for a day. The only issue was the antics of the local police force, whom due to the heat trained in the early hours of the morning, so everyone was woken at 3.30am in the morning to the sound of running and chanting on a nearby road!

Great hostel/staff. I'm not sure about location to Moshi town as I never went there. Beds are comfortable and food is great. This hostel is a base for a volunteer program so there's lots of international people to converse with and they foster a communal and friendly atmosphere. If you pay a little extra you can join in in breakfast and dinner which is delicious. Downside was my dorm room was beside the dining area and the police go running past chanting at 3:30am. That said I would stay again.

Clean and simple hostel. Very friendly people. It is great to see that the money generated goes to a good cause. One of the major downsides is the location. It is a 15 minute walk into town which isn't far, however walking at night can be dangerous so take a taxi. The rooms could do with fans considering how hot it is in summer.

marvelous place, both the staff and the other guests, lively generous volunteers in their twenties, many from spain's basque country. great contacts with moshi locals to organize activities at a most reasonable cost ( ask at the hostel before paying a commercial outfit). simple very tasty food. very rewarding stay.

Karibu Hostel was difficult to find when arriving in Moshi, but the local bus drove us to the door, after a Benny Hill bus chase round the streets of Moshi. The hostel was friendly and the facilities were comfortable. The lady Elsa who manages the place was friendly and very helpful and the lovely lady Maggie who worked there was a dream to meet. I would definitely recommend this place to stay as it has heaps of character and charm.

I really enjoyed my stay here, I was travelling alone and was instantly involved with the plans of the staff, they are genuinely great people and very accommodating. I stayed in a dorm and the beds were comfortable and the nets were in good condition.
