I did not sleep at the backpackers because I am 57 years old and just could not see myself sleeping on the top bunk, there were already 3 other people in the room when we arrived, i feel that when we book we should be able to book a bed, at the end I paid for 2 people but only my son slept there. He was very happy. I think it will be better if you can book a bed for yourself, specially when you book on the site. I was very disappointed, but found another place to sleep for myself.

Karoo Backpackers was a surprisingly amaizing place to stay in the first night of our trip from Jo'burg to Cape Town. The house was nicely decorated and equipped. Joanne was very friendly and gave us really helpful tips on our trip. Even when we were coming back we poped in to ask questions on attractions in the route and she received us with the same passion as she did in the day of our stay. You really feel u r @ your own house. There will definitely be my stop over place next time as well.

We booked a double room and were placed in a room located in a separate building across the road from the hostel, which was not ideal. The room was nice and clean, however there was no key to lock our door, a very noisy pub outside and a real mosquito problem. All hostel staff were very friendlly and helpful. Liked the fact we could park our car in a secure area.
