when we arrived in the evening we had to learn that even though we had booked in advance there was no room for us so we had to stay at kates neighbour house, which was not quite the room we had booked and paid for. we were to tired to complain but the neighbour house was not really what you would call a hostel. nevertheless the neighbour was really nice and helpful so this is rather a review of her neighbours house.

Kate Guest House is a 10 min walk from the main ferry port and only a 5 min bus ride into the old town which is great. Our twin room was in a small flat type set up sharing with one other double room. We had a bathroom and small kitchen with limited facilities but was okay to keep small foods in the fridge. There was no wifi unfortunately. I was very unlucky to fall ill during the trip and Katica was so lovely and had her son drive me to the hospital. The help was great, Thank you :)

If you need wifi inside the room, sorry they don't have and you need to stay in the garden. Yet you can really enjoy the garden view with various fruits in the garden while using wifi, a very relaxing moment! We don't mind it at all and enjoyed our breakfast there! The house owner can pick you up in the bus station upon request (especially you don't have a car with luggages). In fact, it is very close to the main station/pier and good location.

I stayed on a private room ensuite, it was very big and very clean. It also had air conditionair. It was 20 minutes walking to the old town. Very calm and silence

I have read some reviews of this guest house that are inaccurate including pictures. The accommodation wasn’t too bad although quite claustrophobic if you are sharing an apartment with another party. We were expecting the location to be difficult as Dubrovnik is quite hilly but the worst thing was the family that ran the place arguing constantly. This made for a very hostile environment. We also witnessed the family ignoring a customer who had been trying unsuccessfully to contact the family.

A very nice room, stylishly decorated and well equipped. Guest house as opposed to a hostel so opportunities to meet other travellers are limited. Located in Gruz, not particularly near to the old town but the buses are easy to navigate and regular. Staff very friendly, willingly explained things about Dubrovnik in good English upon our arrival. Would probably recommend.

The location is close to the busstation and harbour, and near the hostel is a busstop. So you can take it easy to the centre, only thing is that not every bus that is scheduled shows up. We were also very happy with the fresh clean towels that were present in the room.

The lady who owned this apartment was lovely and looked after us very well. She even gave us welcoming shots and brought down fresh pancakes and honey to us one morning. This apartment is a 2 minute walk away from the main port in Dubrovnik where you catch all the day tours and stuff from which was handy. Although it isn't in the old town it is only a 20minute walk or 5 minute bus journey to get you there. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the walk into the old town most evenings.

Thank you very much Katica and family for the helpful and friendly service. The room was clean and comfortable and really gorgeous view of the balcony. We definitely want to come to the same apartment again.

Had a lovely stay. Guesthouse is a little out of the way and on a pretty steep hill, however Kate is lovely and very welcoming.

We were met at the bus station at no charge. Once at the house we were given a good overview of the good things to see and do in Dubrovnik by Katica (Kate) the owner. We felt very welcome and looked after. The whole place was also very clean and tidy. Taking the number 8 bus to the old city was pretty well explained and easy to use after we had done it a couple of times. It's a lot easier than walking - save your energy for walking around the old city. We were also treated to a jug of ice tea when we ar

kate is a wonderful lady who couldnt be more accommodating if she tried. it is easy busride or short taxi ride to old town and within walking distance of port

Kate was very friend;y and geeted us with a nice jag of cold frsh homeday lemonade. The double en-suite had good space, was clean and the bathroom nice. Airconditioned was a big plus. The alcony was small but with a great view & breeze. Good and safe location esp if you dont mind walking 25mins or taking the bus 5 min ride. Lovely bakery down the road. Very friendly and we enjoyed the company. They let us use their internet and Kate did my laundry which i really appreciated. Highly recomended!

I stayed for 2 days and enjoyed every minute: Very close to busses and city center, a very pleasant place, clean and cosy. The lady is very warm and welcoming and I will definitely recommend this place.

Kate and her family were absolutely lovely and so helpful. We were welcomed with cake and fruit upon our arrival. Lovely stay

Very nice place, very nice people...good choice!

Kate is really lovely and will make you feel at home. The guest house is about a 15 minute walk from the main bus station, the directions are easy to follow, just make sure you keep walking up the hill for a while before getting to the pizza place. There is a bus to Old Town. The kitchen is good and the beds were comfy. A really nice place!

This was a really nice place to stay. It is a little bit out of town but there are regular bus connections to the old town. The room was clean, airconditioned and even had a little balcony overlooking Dubrovnik harbour. The best part however was that the owners were very helpful, pick up and drop off to main bus station for free and gave a lot of helpful information about buses and what to do in Dubrovnik. They were very friendly I would be delighted to stay here again.

comfort accordant with the price + cheap shopping (Tommy) and pizzeria (La Luna) near to the house - air condition control is in common for two rooms

These peope are lovely, they picked us up from the bus and took me there to catch the bus to my 6am flight. They went out of their way for us and seemed really genuine people. It´s an easy walk or 5 min bus ride to town and there are places to eat close by also. I strongly recommend this place :)
