Second time we had stayed and it is a great hostel in terms of location, security and value for money. My only issue was that the wifi was not fixed (no wifi in rooms) since we last stayed (weeks ago) and the owner was quite stern with me when she found out I had put my food in the fridge behind the bar even though other staff told me to do so. I am sorry but a bar fridge is not sufficient for guests to store their food!

Hi there! Thanks for spending time with us again. I think had happen a few misunderstanding, and I'm truly sorry. The internet doesn't work in the dorms only at the common areas. And since our rooftop close we put a exclusive fridge for guests that way they can access their food anytime. About the size of it this was our first complain so we will evaluate the necessity of a bigger one. We are always trying to improve so thanks for your review.

The staff is very friendly and helpful and even in the midst of all the World Cup frenzy the hostel was pretty quiet. The location is a problem if you want to walk everywhere because nothing is close but there is a metro and several bus stops really close that can quickly take you anywhere in Rio.

The best place in Rio!!! A must go with a freaking relax staff. So peacefull. BBQ, good caipirinias, nice informations, nice tips about the ity, lapa really nearby, like the stadium 10 mins, lots of taxi passing in the street, metro 100 m away, night club xxx and gym also nearby ;) Well just come over and enjoy Kazahostel! Anf, ho, new wireless, internet is axtually fonctionning now !

great staff

Amazing staff, so friendly and sociable without forcing the party hostel atmosphere... Perfect place for the world cup- with staff from many qualifying countries! N ice breakfast included and good sitting area and bar. Shame it's quite far from Copacabana but really easy to get everywhere as the Metro stop is a 3 minute walk away :) Very good hostel- excellent end to our 6 months of staying in hostels in S. America (at least in our top 3!)

I was losing my luggage when I arrived Brazil, and Kaza staff were all very kind to help me to make many calls to airport, airline, delivery company and finally I found it back before the night I left at 11 PM Thank you so much, every one there. :))

It's a nice enough place, but the reason to stay here is that it is clean and cheap. The wifi barely works (and only works at all if in the bar area), the location is sketchy at night and while it is just a few minutes walk from the metro the fact is you will have take it for at least 20-50 minutes anytime you want to go to anywhere worth going (except Lapa) and the lockers are useless. That said, it's clean, staff (especially Laura) is incredibly helpful, and the outside doors secure.

Hi,thanks for spending your time to give us your feedback. We were having some problems with internet that were all fixed now. As said on our description we are not located in a tourist area, but a local neighborhood that can offer to our visitor know Rio beyond the postcards. We try to improve daily so your feedback is very important to us! Cheers!

We stayed a night during the World Cup where all other hostels were asking $200R per night. This was one of the few that was much more reasonable. It was a little out (from Copacobana) although was only about 10 minutes walk from Lapa (party district) or so we were told (we didn't walk there). The atmosphere was really good for what we wanted It was very relaxed, chilled and the staff were very friendly. I would not say that it was a party hostel if that is what you are looking for.

Cant speak more highly if a hostel than this one. The team here is fantastic, Paula the owner is wonderful, Laura, Davide, Alba and Guillermo are so nice and helpful. Very comfortable stay right near the metro and great local restaraunts. Place is very clean it feels like you are a oart if the family! Very friendly you can meet fellow travellers they have a great rooftop bar and great breakfast. Overall im so thankful i stayed here! Peter from Australia! Just book it!

Very near from metro station and the rooms are very clean. I liked the hostel and I would come back.

Super nice hostel in a goog location, close to the metro! The great point at kaza rio is the staff, always willing to help ! Amazing experience and good quality price relation!

Good hostel close to one Metro station and Sambadrom. But for all other reason one has to go near Copacabana area including city tour etc. The staffs are helpful but they are not quite informed with what is happening in the city and how to avail those. However they try their best to find it out for you. There is no computer kept for internet usage as mentioned in the facilities. I did not like their demand for half of the total money in advance by western union or threatened to cancel booking

Hey, thanks for your review! We do not say that we have computers, even thou we do have an ipad only for guests. About the 50% it's for big events only, and it's written on the website, so if guests don't feel comfortable with this rule they know before booking it. About the city tour, since we are near sambodromo, the close the street for carnival and it's about the tour company they changed this year, we are looking for new companies to do the tour. Cheers!

It's a nice hostel with a fair price. During my stay they had a fumigation, but they did compensate for the inconvenient. Bad Points: The neighbourhood is not very safe by night and the facilities are not in their best shape. Good points: The staff is very attentive and friendly, a nice breakfast and good cleanliness.

Thanks for your review. About the neighbourhood: We've been here for almost 2 years now, and since then we never had a single case of guest being robbed in the area or having any kind of problem, it's a local and non touristic close to main attractions by several options of transportation. About the facilities, even been only 2 years most part of our facilities it was already replaced for new ones. Cheers!
