The place is clean and the staff was Nice. The location is excellent as you have everything nearby, it is very close to the metro station to go everywhere else. The only advice is to please make sure to have air conditioning, we paid for it and it never worked and Rio is very hot 24/7. The Bar, the atmosphere, WiFi, help from the staff, all the rest is good and value for your money.

Hi There! Thanks for spending time with us! We are glad that you had a good experience with us! We had a ponctual problem with the AC that is already fixed besides that we gave you guys an upgrade to a different room and returned the difference that you paid for the room with AC since you first booked a room without it. Cheers!

Good hostel more or less close to the rodoviario bus station. That's also why i chose it allthough the neighbourhood seems a little bit creepy at night. The facilities are good but the matrasses and bed sheets could and should be a lot better. Then again it is one of the cheapest options in Rio so it's what you can expect.

Hi there! Thanks for your comment! It is the first time someone mentions our sheets and mattresses since they are all new with less than a year of use but I'll recheck them out personally. About the area we never had any problems because it is a local neighborhood, you may not have realized that since you arrived late at night and left in the next morning. Cheers!

Really clean place and very secure. We had a double private room but found it way too small given we gad massive backpacks and had to move next night-there was only a fan in there and it was such a high ceiling it made no difference-that room needs aircon to make it sleep-able! Showers were good, towels inc which was nice. A good place to stay if you can deal with the heat!

Thanks for spending time with us! We do have rooms with A/C and rooms with fan so our guests can choose between them. We are very glad for your suggestion and we will look for alternatives to make the room cooler during summer time but keep lower price for guests who don't mind about A/C. Cheers!

Great hostel in the center of Rio, less than 5 min walk to the Estacio metro stop. Rooms are large with full size lockers. The security is great and neighborhood very safe, lots of street lights and people enjoying the cooler night. Make sure you get a room with air con as its the same price for a fan. Staff is incredibly nice an helpful, let us store our big bags for a quick Ilha grande trip.

Excellent staff, all very friendly. Cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. They provided some things for carnaval for us... And it's a small hostel, so it's very easy to meet others staying. Security is heavy, you need to get through 2 doors with different codes (I got locked out the first night because I was not told that the first gate would have a code... Not good!!) Breakfast was all very sweet, a lot of junk food, but there was fruit. Overall a very positive stay.

Owner Comment (Show)
Thanks for spending time with us! About the codes I'll double check and make sure that no one leaves the building without it, but I personally asked you to check if you could open the doors before you leave since we close usually after 10 pm. Safe Trip!

Too much mosquitos while opening the window. Too noisy.

Kaza Rio is a prefect hostel for meeting people and getting to know the city. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. All the beds/lockers are clean and in really good shape. The location is great for getting around -- it is a block away from the metro with easy access all over the city. Very close to Lapa! They also have a great rooftop -- perfect for meeting and hanging out with friends over a beer!

This hostel is very far out of the main tourest areas of Rio and doesn´t have computers to use. It is also very quiet. If you want to relax then it´s fine, but if you want to be close to the beaches and be in an ambient hostel I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Great hostel that is trying hard; not all rooms have A/C though, and we couldn't sleep due to the heat without A/C. However staff moved us to a new room, and only slightly more expensive. Not in the the heart of things, but close enough that if you're willing to take some taxis, you get a peaceful and decent place to stay at a good price.

Great hostel. Especially the staff. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Our room had air conditioner which was great. Over all the facilities were in good condition and clean. There are not much things around where the hostel locates but the connections are good and it is easy to get anywhere in Rio. Breakfast could have had more variety.

Wonderful hostel, wonderful people! I stayed here over New Years, and I had a wonderful time and went with a big group of people from the hostel. Good breakfast! I love the outside area and its a very chill place to stay and even just hang out. It's not centrally located but there's a subway stop very close so it's pretty easy to get around.

I stayed here twice, and the private dorms are nice (although pretty small). Staff are friendly, though quite far location wise to everything apart from Lapa. Would have rather stayed in Ipanema/Copacabana but it was all full.

Great hostel, very new and clean! Staff was really helpful and nice! Very convenient location in a typical brazilian place, near to the metro which takes you everywhere, beaches are less than 30 minutes away! Lapa, the party place in Rio, is like 10 min away by taking one bus in the corner! Definitely I will come back!

Salu2
