Mark was so sweet and helpful and always available to ask questions of. The place has lots of atmosphere even in the very cold weather that Beijing was experiencing at the time!

Cute and cosy hostel that made us feel at home. Helpful staff, very clean, and comfortable. The hot water gave out towards the end of our trip as there's only one tank shared between all the rooms but we just showered at a different time.

This hostel is perfect for those who want a pleasant retreat from the hustle and bustle of Beijing. Although the hostel is located very close to the centre of Beijing, it was very quiet and peaceful at night and our experiences felt very genuine and authentic as opposed to the major tourist centres around Wangfujing and Xidan. Special thanks to Mark for being so helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Hi Marc! I cant thank you enough for our stay at your hostel. It was so great. You are by far the best host ever! Keep up the good work!

We loved it here, a little gem. A little tricky to find (no sign-age out front) and tucked away but once you have you won't regret it. Extremely helpful and friendly people made it very easy for us to find our way about without the need for expensive tours. Vintage chic and very tranquil. We will be back.

Great Atmosphere and great staff, breakfast was unfortunately a let down. Don't need much but a bit more butter, some cheese or ham or something more, and boiled egg would make it so much better without much hassle.

Staff is very welcoming and helpful. The hostel is located in between two subway stops, and very central. The room was very nice and spacoius, fancy decorated. Only inconvenient, due to the fact that the bathroom is very narrow and in a "corridor"-like room, the shower is located nearby the toilet and separeted only by a tent (means that in case you shower all the bathroom will be wet). Breakfast is very nice and continental.

A great oasis in the busy city. Mark was helpful and knowledgable . We really enjoyed the hutong experience . Far superior to the average boring hotel room

It was early autumn when I stayed at the lovely courtyard hostel. I loved its ambience and the sunny but cool rooftop patio. Most of all, I was very pleased with the courteous and attentive staff. Mark was ever helpful and helped with directions to a market in Beijing ( where I could buy mixed grain bird seeds! I had gone around to a few pet shops in Beijing without success. It meant a lot to me.

Arguably one of the best hostels we've stayed in. Lovely equipped double rooms, cozy atmosphere, most important sightseeing spots nearby (hostel is located in a hutong, one of Beijings traditional neighbourhoods), and great staff. Feels like you're staying at a friend's place. It was quite tricky to locate it when we got there, however, it gives you a first taste of chinese people's helpfulness. Only real downside was the shower (squeezed in between toilet and sink w/o any covering).

Fabulous place to stay in a safe, quiet location. Staff were outstanding, couldn't do enough for us, from helping us with where to go and what to do to lending umbrellas! Beautiful old traditional courtyard in a Hutong area with easy access to underground, buses and taxis. Easy walk to 2 big parks and Fobidden City/Tiannemen Square. We absolutely loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend to others.

Beautiful hostel, felt like a hotel! Very wel maintained and the staff were lovely. Kelly and John went out of their way to help us on a number of occasions and we're both very friendly. I would recommend this hostel to anyone. It's close to the subway station and not far from forbidden city etc.
