Good in general, with helpful staff, and in a great, central location. The bar connected to the hostel was quite good to hang out at also. The only suggestion I would make is that it would be great to have a lift/elevator because it's no fun carting bags up the steep and narrow stairway.

Stayed at duchess 2, had beds to sleep 5 which is great but the Ac was not cool enough. Internet in the common room wonky. Those with heavy big bags be mindful of multiple flight of stairs(depending on where your room is). Otherwise pretty good, great location very close to kings cross!!

Hi Bee Thank you for taking the time to write a review. As the hostel is relatively new we are always trying to improve our facilities, so thank you for your feedback. I do appreciate, it is not easy carrying your luggage up the stairs so perhaps an elevator maybe be something to consider for the future also our staff are always there to lend a hand. The A.C has a remote control to regulate the temperature in the room. Always ask at reception during your stay if you need any assistance. Orla

If you're looking for a simple, quiet place to stay in London then this is a good choice. Nothing bad to say about this hostel, but nothing exceptional. The bar attached to the side was a nice touch and you can see King's Cross/St. Pancras station from the front door which was a great convenience. I will say though, the a/c unit in the room was a pleasant surprise!

Excellent hostel! Arrived late at night to a friendly receptionist waiting for me. He even offered to store my bags and lent me an alarm clock as my phone had died! Top mixed dorm is great as divided into two, the far side has lovely big windows :) Best bed I've slept in in a very long time!! Comfy!! Couldn't be much closer to Kings Cross without actually sleeping on the tracks! Thanks to the great staff :)

Excellent location, just a block away from Kings Cross / St Pancras. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. The lockers are a bit small, but with enough space for valuables. Helpful staff, always willing to help guests.

Hello there! Thank you very much for your feedback! There is a storage room for our guests to keep big luggage if they feel unsafe to keep it in the room. We hope you have enjoyed your stay with us. Keystone House Team

The staff was really, really friendly. The atmosphere was nice and the hostel is close to the station we arrived at. We just had some issues with the room. I directly checked the bed and I could spot some crumbs and hairs under the sheets, so it wasn't really cleaned properly. Of course we knew the room won't have windows but even the airconditioner didn't help to refresh the air inside the room. It was really muggy. We stayed 3 days and for a short stay, I definitely recommend it. :)

Hi Anna Thank you for taking the time to write a review. As the hostel is relatively new we are always trying to find ways to improve our facilities. It’s always good to get feedback from our guests so we know the exact areas that need to be improved. I am sorry you found hairs/crumbs under the sheets as there is no excuse for this. The linen on the beds & the rooms are cleaned after each guest leaves. Always go to reception if you are unhappy with any aspect of your room All the best Orla

The location is the only good thing about this place, good enough for me to overlook its faults. The cleanliness was average at best. I stayed in a 4-bed room with an ensuite bathroom. For the 3 nights that I was there, the bathroom was not cleaned and according to the log in the room, it was last cleaned 2 days before I arrived. The bathmat inside the shower was slimy due to lack of scrubbing. Free wifi was only available in the common area which was not very comfortable and closes at 11pm.

Hi Jieqi Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very sorry you were unhappy with the cleanliness of your bathroom. The bathrooms are cleaned daily as hygiene is one of our top priorities. Sometimes the cleaners forget to sign the cleaning log on the door. I will be sure to look into this matter and make sure it never happen again. Always go to reception if you are unhappy with any aspects of your room. I will also take on board your comments about the common area. Thanks Orla

We stayed in a 4 bed ensuite and were pleasantly surprised by the wide comfy clean beds and large bathroom. There are ample toilets outside of the rooms too. It's in an ideal location and value for money in the heart of London and if my diva sister says a hostel is "pretty decent" on arrival, it's got to be good!

spent 5 nights with keystone house, just next king's cross which is perfect for some one who plan to visit london around, stuff are very friendly, especially the guy worked in the morning and afternoon shift, room is small than i expected, but got ensuit, so its ok, only problem is the noise, sometimes felt like sleeping on the street, the hostel just on the busy main road, just think if the windows could be updated, could definitely reduce the noise, other than that, good place to stay

I've stayed in hostels worse than this one but the room we stayed in was hot and had no ventilation. It was on the 3rd floor and the showers were on the 1st. But the worst part was the internet connection, the only place that had free access was the common area that closed at 11pm (!). If you want to use internet on your room you have to pay like £5 per day.

Hostel was loud and bathrooms not kept clean. There were Young children running through the hallways. I believe we paid extra for breakfast to be included and then it wasn't available. I would not reccommend forcanyone to stay here and i will not stay here again.

As for breakfast we have always provided it free of charge, and it's available daily from 7am, however there is a paid for option available until 10am at the Station Cafe next door. My goodness! That long staircase! I thought I would never reach the room. But having an air conditioner in the end was great. We stayed only one night, but it was pretty nice. Great location and friendly staff.

I think there was some mold in the bathroom and the shower was really poor.

The good: Overall a great hostel experience. Good location. Rooms are clean. Facilities are adequate. Decent spaces to socialise with other travellers. Good lockers in rooms for valuables. The bad: Sometimes the front desk staff were inattentive. Sometimes off in their own little world when there are clearly people waiting to be served. Acknowledgement at least would be nice. Fee for holding bags after checkout was a little annoying considering they are held after check-in for free.

The free wifi is available only in the common room area. That's the only downside. The rest are great.

Staircase is very narrow and steep especially when travellers are carrying big backpacks or luggages. I almost slipped and fell as I was walking down. There was no way to lock the window in the room and we felt quite insecure. The aircon was not cold even when we lower down the temperature, I guess it was not clean and filtered. Toilet is pretty tight and small in the ensuite room and we realised the toilet was not very clean, as the dustbin was not cleared. Breakfast quantity was insufficient.

the hostel was clean enough and centrally located but the staff was quite callous and unhelpful, they moved my stuff the first day to another room without telling me because they had put me in the wrong room and it didnt seem to matter to them when i told them this! and when i arrived after a long trip in the morning i had to wait till 2pm in order to access my room. also the temperature in the whole hostel was clammy and humid constantly leaving me sweating all the time.

It's a nice hostel: location and the place. The beds are really comfortable. The breakfast was really poor: not enough milk or jam. I stayed there for three nights and they couldn't buy any sugar during those days! Just a detail but still they should pay attention to those things. All the same, I recommend this hostel.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at! The only problem I have with this hostel is that the box for me to stow my belongings beside my bed has a broken lock.

Hi there, Thank you for your feedback! You should've informed the reception about it during your stay so we could have a look at it. Kind regards, Keystone House Team
