My experience at the Kangsar Guest House was very very good. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are a great value for the price, and the water in the shower is always very hot. The location in great and close to everything. The owner Raj was particularly helpful in booking our trek to the Annapurna region and gave us the best rate we could find in town.

The Khangsar Guest House is an extremely hospitable facility. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating from the moment they picked me up from the airport until I checked out of the guesthouse. The guest house is in a wonderful location as well. It is walking distance to all the outdoor shops, restaurants, book stores and coffee shops in Thamel. I would recommend the The Khangsar Guesthouse to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

This place is really convenient in Kamel, so mots of the restaurants and Katmandu's Durbar Square are within walking distance... the staff it's really nice (we have a small incident while booking a tour with them... but at the end of they day... they solve it out and arrange everything, so definitely trustworthy). So I suggest an stay in this place definitely

Great spot…really unique guest house passed through 5 generations. Lovely family. Beds very hard - but this seems common in India and Nepal. Didn't have much time there so took tours with Mayure, lovely guy, and they were good. Great way to find your way around and see/experience the most important bits. Thanks

Perfect location, one of the last streets of Thamel (= btw just 6 streets) so you're in the middle of it. However, hotel is in pretty quiet side street. We felt completely safe here! The rooms are what you can expect for this price, old but pretty clean. Unfortunately not always hot water, but that is a common problem in Kathmandu. Even in the more expensive hotels is often no hot water :-( The restaurant serves good food at a good price. The owner is friendly&helpful! Arranged some tours for us

I've had another excellent stay at Khangsar Guest House... as usual, the staff are friendly, my room's squeaky clean, hot water in the shower 's always aplenty, and great value for the accommodation and tour package. Would come back here every time life brings me to Kathmandu!

Friendly and accommodating staff and decent rooms. Rooms and showers were a bit cold, although we were not climatized to the frigid Nepal weather coming from a warmer climate. However, the owner was very helpful and the guest house itself is in a great location. Would definitely go back.

The standard of facilities and quality of the services that I got here are far exceedingly more compared to the money I had to pay. In other words, this is one place where the term "value for money" is very well demonstrated. In my point of view, the management could surely charge more for the accommodation and services they provide, and I am one of those who don't mind paying more because I think they deserve it... but the fact is...they choose to not charge more, and I thank them for that!!!

The staff at the Khangsar are extremely helpful - the manager, Raj, found us a great porter for our EBC trek (his name was Rewati and we'd highly recommend him). The location is good - close to the heart of Thamel and about 10 mins walk to Durbar Square. The rooms are spacious and there's clean, there's free wifi and a lovely rooftop garden - a great escape from the craziness of Thamel!
