I only stayed at this hostel for one night, as I needed a stopover before I flew back to London the next morning, so didn't get the full experience, but this seems like somewhere to come if you're up for a party. All the guests were teenagers/early 20s and within a very short space of time got invited to a psytrance rave, which annoyingly I couldn't go to as I had to be up mega early :( Staff are friendly and helpful, a very social, party-loving place here.

I loved this hostel. Close to as ajuda station and asakusa main attractions. Staff amazing. Safe. Clean. There is Internet. I couldn't ask for more. If I am back in Tokyo I will be there again.

A little run down but average for a hostel IMHO. The staff was helpful. Asakusa is close enough to use the subway. Probably best for young people. The internet was free which was good. Very close to the giant new grey tower and tha ?Sumita river. We had a private room but bath was down the hall. USA type clean , not the usual super-Japan clean feeling.

nice staff; would not recommend capsules, it is too hot and smelly ; only 1 toilet and 1 shower on 1st floor for about 40 people, other showers in common chillout/reception area which was weird

It`s 4-5 blocks from the Asakusa Station, so it`s easy to get there, specially if you come from Narita (the train leaves you exactly there). I slept in a cabine deluxe and had a good sleep. The hostel was clean and everyone was friendly, but the best of this hostel is the staff. They are friendly and helpful (what every lonely traveler like me needs :D)

Its a great hostel. It is located in a nice area and it is easy to find. I had a great time everytime i was here. The staf is very friendly and helpfull. I think the staff is the best things about the hostel. The rooms are fine, you don't need more than they provide. The showers can be a bit cold sometimes though. But this was the best hostel i stayed in during my 5 month trip!

Stayed here recently with a friend. We had the Basic Twin Private (bunk beds with a small desk and A/C & heater, free bed linens, and very little extra space). Foam mattresses are a little worn but still ok. Toilets and showers are small too but work well, could be cleaner. Computers and wifi are ok, a little slow/old. Staff is chill and speak decent English. Security, seems like anyone could walk in during the day. 10 min walk to the nearest subway station (not a JR line). Overall good stay.

It is a great hostel, with good location in tokyo. I had no problems with the number of showers, there are a few in the bedroom floors but more in the first floor.

The cabin capsule-style beds are awesome! Great experience, staff was very nice, met some cool other guests as well. Can be a little hard to find, but directions on website are very helpful. Asakusa location has some cool sights, including the Sky Tree! Definitely look forward to staying here again.

We don't like the location. It is quite far from station. We also wait too long for receptionist. I don't know what she's done. The bed sheet is dirty due to it is in the floor. I don't wanna stay hee again.

I stayed at the Khaosan Oringinal in 2010 and thought that the Asakusa Annex would be a good choice. I found the directions to get to the hostel straightforward but missed the Mercedes Building in the evening darkness. I did find the hostel by working my way around the map. If you miss the Mercedes Building, go to the temple shown on the map. Asakusa Annex is less than 50 meters away. I will definately stay again when I go to Tokyo.

Not a small hostel but a much bigger complex. You can feel here like in hotel but with hostel standards. Stayed in twin private room. Rooms are extremely small. Almost no place to place your luggage. Just beds and thats all. But facilities are very well. Free WiFi in rooms on every floor. Little bit busy place full of tourists. Good location in Asakusa area.

The capsule cabins are comfortable and not stuff or claustrophobic. The hostel is relatively cheap for Tokyo yet gives great value for your money. Rooms are warm, lit, power outlets available and reliable wifi available everywhere. Clean. Could use more showers but when I was there I never had to wait or queue to use them so it was no problem.

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Khaosan Tokyo Annex. Our room was nice and the accommodations were more than satisfactory. We appreciated the free coffee and tea and all the fliers and information about places to see and things to do around Tokyo. The hostel staff went out of their way to help me find information about kabuki shows and sumo practices. They printed me maps and gave me everything I needed. I really appreciated their helpfulness and cheerfulness. Keep up the good work!!
