Staff and resources were excellent. Lots of information for everything we wanted to do. While the location is not central, Asakusa is a short underground ride from most of the attractions. There is also lots to do in this area e.g. Asakusa shrine and Asahi buildings. Also VERY clean. Would stay again.

The cons of this place: My room was on the 3rd floor in a very awkward spot. It was a door located behind another door and very annoying to get into - especially with luggage. It also smelt disgusting. The room's heater also produced a bad odour. The lights were dim in the room. The power socket above your head in the bed was loose so my phone charger would slip out and onto my head during the night...haha. There is no elevator. The reception area/free computers was grossly pungent from coffee.

I liked my stay at Khaosan Tokyo Samurai. This hostel provided neat shower rooms, a heater/AC and clean sheets. Our room smelled a little bad since it was right next to the bathroom, but we should have been more vocal about that. It was a very nice, quiet hostel. None of our fellow guests were too loud. The kitchen was clean and homey.

The best thing about this hostel hands down is the staff. Very helpful and fun to talk to if you have some extra time. It's prety close to the metro so there aren't any problems making this your hub to explore Tokyo, and the beds are more comfortable than the whisper of memory foam that you tend to get at the more budget options in Asakusa. Definitely recommend giving this place a shot.

I really enjoyed our stay here. We had a private room which I admit was small, but it was just a place to sleep really. The staff are so helpful and speak English. There is free shampoo and shower gel plus hair dryers!!! Bonus!! I would recommendthis hostel for anyone looking at staying in Tokyo on a bit of a budget!!

We had a great time in Tokyo at the Samurai. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a few drinks at the Khaosan bar, which is only about 3 minutes away from the hostel. Beautiful sunsets in Asakusa and about 10 minutes to the closest metro line, 15 minutes to the Ginza line.

Pretty nice place though if you're 6 foot 3 you'll struggle with any doorways, beds are long though! It's much smaller than the Khoasan kyoto but has the same friendly feel, and the upstairs common room and kitchen is once again a great place to meet people. The walk to the train station feels a little far for Tokyo but realistically it's only about 5-10 minutes to a Tokyo metro subway and its on the right side of town for most of the things you'll want to see in Tokyo

Asakusa is a great neighbourhood to stay in, and it was a short walk to the metro and local attractions. The facilities in the hostel were great and everything was clean and comfortable (the laundry facilities were also a pleasant bonus!). Not very much of a party hostel, at least in winter, though I think this would be an especially great place to meet other travelers in the summer as it has a great balcony and rooftop terrace.

One of several Khaosan hostels around the area. Nice place with a little lack of character and authenticity but I met very nice people there.
