The staff are very helpful and friendly. They made my stay in Tokyo very pleasant. The comfort(blanket) in the room, I think, needs to changed more regularly. I found it had hair and spots in some places so that was a bit gross. The rest of the facility is super clean though.

You get what you pay for. My room smelled so bad and the people weren't very friendly. The bathrooms and kitchen were good, and the head manager was lovely. Location was fine but I wouldn't stay more than a night.

I missed the way little bit, but I say it's the best hostel I've never met. It was so close to Sensou-zi, So I walked down there at the night just in 10 minutes! And All the staff were kind, also they lend me shampoo for free lol. The atmosphere makes me feel that I'm real in Japan but it's too dark inside. So If you don't like dark place, not recommended. But I really loved it!

There are a few rare hostels that really change your experience of a city. Khaosan was like that for me. The staff were warm and friendly, like family, and the Khaosan bar was a great place to meet good friends. I'll be back as soon as possible and recommend it 100%!

My first trip to Japan. Samurai was everything it said it was on hostelworld. The Staff are helpful if you ask for help. The Metro makes it easy to get to places, but you are a bit away from some things. Room was nice and the bed was extremely soft by Asia standards. The directions on how to get to the Hostel are dead on as well. If you look in your lonely planet there are a few really good places to eat near by. The Sky Tree will open soon and that will just make the Samurai more popular

The staff was fantastic and spoke good english. The hostel itself has a great atmosphere and lots of community events for guests to meet each other. The only issue is that the toilets and showers are not connected to the rooms, and you even have to climb downstairs for a shower. Still, for the price, and location (about five minutes walk from Asakusa station), it's hard not to recommend.

Had a fantastic stay at all of the Khaosans we stayed at in Kyoto & Tokyo over the Christmas period. Always clean, facilities are great in the shared areas, showers are always hot and the beds are comfy. Need nothing more! Samurai doesnt have too much going on around it but is close to subway and a short 5 min walk to Asakusa street where there are plenty of options. Staff were very helpful in recommending things to do.

I spent 3 nights at the end of a 6 week trip. The hostel was comfortable and had excellent kitchen facilities, rooms were bigger than the other 4 bed dorms I stayed in and the beds were bigger too. The staff were very helpful - I was sorry I didn't get to do an oragami class with Midori and she very kindly left me a little oragami bird at the reception when I was leaving.

our double room was very small! very very small! also the quilt was too thin for this time of year. I was very cold at night and had to keep the heater on low alkl night (which i dont likle doing because it is a waste of energy. Apart from those litlle things it was a very enjoyable stay. Ps. oh yeah and the map of the surrounding area and places to go eat is not very good. the numbers where not very clear as to what street the place was on.

I stayed at Samurai on and off for about 3 weeks during a stay in Tokyo. I was always glad when I got to come back. It has a homely feel and all the staff are welcoming and were happy to see me return. I loved coming out of the overwhelming Tokyo back to Samurai because it was really calm and relaxing. Midori's oragami is so much fun to watch and play with. Saori was always great in finding me a more comfortable pillow too! Will miss you Samurai!

Great place to stay. This was my second time staying here and I loved every minute of it. Free internet and computers to use as well as coffee/tea is a plus. Staff are very friendly (and cute!) and love talking to the guests and the beds are comfortable. Was there during the cold season but the heater made it bearable. Asakusa is a bit from main Tokyo area but for the price, I would def. recommend this place to those traveling. Really don't have any downsides for this hostel. Great job!

73% seems like a poor rating but this really isn't a bad hostel, I just don't feel I got anything special from it like I have with previous places. Staff were always helpful, best part of the place by far. Could use a lick of paint in some places, especially the shower rooms. In a good location but not right in the heart of the Tokyo action, but nice for more cultural activities. I went in December so the place wasn't full but I had a nice time in the bar where you get to meet fellow guests.
