Rood top balcony was a great place to meet other people. The owner had put on a bbq for everyone on 1 of the nights, which was a fantastic opportunity to meet other travelers.

In stayed here for only be night but would happily go back. It was a very clean hostel and the staff were wonderful. The guy who runs the place speaks fan English and is very helpful in helping you with things to do and place to go around Chiang Mai. Highly recommended

After a delayed train trip to chiang mai, we arrived in the city centre just little before midnight without a booking. When the four of us got to kikies they only had a room for 2 available, but improvised and made us two extra beds! Awesome friendly people and the hostel itself was surprisingly nice too. :)

Great staff - Kikie and Faang are sweethearts! Rooftop area is a nice spot to chill out, especially when they do BBQ's! Dorm room beds were single beds rather then bunks, which is always nice - plus they had their own plugs, storage shelves and even an extra little locker. The private double bed room was huge and comfy! Mosquitos were plentiful, especially in the 1st floor shared bathroom, however they didn't seem as interested in biting as they were in just hanging out. I'll be back!!

I met some great people at this hostel and it played a big part in making my trip to Chang Mai a great one. The place is full of characters and the relaxing BBQ evenings on the roof top are not to be missed. It felt like a home for me during my trip and I would certainly stay there again.

Kikie and Marco were excellent hosts, very personable, full of useful information and of great assistance setting up activities. The rooms were clean and comfortable and are getting even nicer with ongoing improvements such as new tile and wooden floors, repainting, new four poster beds. Great location - close to sights, restaurants and bars, but still quiet.

Room was clean and comfortable with smallest bathroom we had during in the last 7months travel in Asia! Location is quite good and calm, but we had a room in the 2nd house and we did not meet anybody at all. So the athmosphere was not so good, but in the 1st house looks better from this point of view...maybe more noisy as well...after 3 nights we change to another guesthouse which was cheaper and better...

This hostel is not in the best location, the dorm rooms really aren't great, the bathroom was pretty dirty, and the beds were hard as rocks. Only some dorm beds come with mosquito nets, so tough luck if ou don't get one. On the reviews it said KIkie was so great and nice, and was actually pretty rude to us when we had to cancel one night, so watch out for at. Really wouldn't reccomend this place, you can find somewhere with a more social backpacker vibe.

Kikie is a delight! Very informative and helpful. The dorm and private rooms had hard mattresses but were cozy and safe. The roof was a fun and nice place to hang out.

I thought Kikies guest house was really charming. Stayed in a dorm that had space to lock up small items. It had a passable bathroom. The staff were really friendly. Helped me get a motorbike and gave me some great recommendations on the city. Perfect walking distance from just about everything in the old city and right around the corner from some nice bars and a lovely temple.

I stayed at Kikie's Homebase - not at her regular hostel. Our room was pretty nice and plenty big. The fan worked, the bed was okay, and the shower was pretty warm if memory serves. There were several pretty large holes in our window screen, which made it easy for the mosquitoes to get in. Also, the sink emptied from an open pipe onto the floor near the shower drain. Kind of odd. Great laundry service, though, and Kikie seems happy to help when she's around. Great value in general.

Kikie and her nice employee told us this room was about to be renovated. I hope that happened. The bathroom was in need of major renovations!

Good central location. Rooms are clean and there are locking cupboards to put your valuables in. Staff on reception are excellent, really helpful and friendly with perfect english. I was in a fan room and it did get a little to hot. For the price you cant moan.

We booked a double room but ended up staying in a dorm (which we had to ourselves). The room was extremely basic (concrete floors etc) but was fine. Kikie was lovely and we booked a great cookery class via her. She also provided lots of helpful advice. My only complaint would be the noise. There were window slats that stay open all day and night rather than proper windows and 2 extremely noisy dogs that fight and bark all through the night right outside the hostel which kept us awake.

This place is super cheap so you are not expecting anything flash. Our room was old, but it was clean the bed was super comfy had new sheets and linen. The walls are quite thin so you could hear everything. But the location is superb , walking distance to everything and Kiki and Marco were friendly and very helpful!!!!!!

My review is of the expansion--Kiki's Homebase--as I did not sleep at Kiki's Guesthouse. Kiki's Homebase is still under construction, and will probably be much better as soon as the improvements are finished. Most people I talked to say that the guest house is far superior at the time of writing, but the Homebase was fine for what you pay.

Kikie s Guesthouse is a wonderful place to stay. It will make your journey a true holiday. Kikie and Marco are very helpful. They go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Wether its arranging bus tickets or making sure you get the right price for rental bikes. Best hostel of our trip so far!
