The building has a lot of character and is in a great location. The staff would bend over backward for you,, too. The kitchen is pleasant and clean and well equipped. Plenty of free towels and nice, hot showers were a nice bonus. The only thing I didn't like was the wifi service. Very weak signal that can only be reached from the sitting room, and often not even then. But otherwise, it's a lovely hostel and we would stay there again.

Great short stay at Kilkenny Tourist Hostel. Parking just around the corner at 3 euros per 24 hrs. Great location to enjoy the pubs and restaurants in Kilkenny.

The old rule applies again: the smaller the town, the nicer the hostel. Friendly, funny, helpful staff, quite spacious rooms, a decent kitschen and a dining room that doesn't need artificial light during daytime. Located in the centre (no hard task in Kilkenny though), yet quiet (except if you happen to stay the night after hurling finals but hey...). Okay, wi-fi signal could be stronger in the rooms. I'd stay there anytime again!

Very nice staff with good location but a bit noisy because of that when you sleep near the road...

Definatly one of the best hostels I've stayed in across UK and Europe!

Absolutely love it here. It's quiet and cozy during the week, with very comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen and a nice little sitting room. The staff is adorable. The old building is very atmospheric--which in this case is not a euphemism for drafty!

A small hostel with a cosy atmosphere. Right across from some pubs if you wanna go for a drink and not to far to walk from the bus station. Also right next to the Smithwicks Brewery!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great location with very nice and helpful staff. The only complaint I have is that the rooms were a bit noisy and the wifi wasn't great (it didn't work in the rooms on the top floor). But the kitchen was nice and big and the lounge was nice to hang out in.

For young travellers, exeactly like a youth hostel. Rooms of 6 beds, big kitchen for everyone, and sanitaries on the floor. It is clean and the staff is aware of any problem which could occur. And as usual in this kind of hostel, very very nice to meet people from any part of the world, but not safe at all, be careful, and you need to be lucky to have a good sleep...,ask for those in the back side! The rooms are not aerated, windows nned to be opened, but it is very noisy on the street.

Welcoming, friendly and very well placed hostel.

We were lucky enough to be one of the first guests in their new building (3 bed dorm). It was lovely inside with very comfortable beds, however there was no door in the shower so every time you shower water goes all over the bathroom (it isn't a wet room). Staff were great and there is a big kitchen and common room. Central Location.

Great hostel, really would recommend staying here. The staff are very friendly and have heaps of knowledge about things going on in the town. There is a board that is updated daily detailing what events are happening and where to go to see live music etc.. The rooms are clean as are the bathroom and kitchen. Good kitchen facilities and a chillout area too. The location is great close to train/bus stations and main sites like the castle.

This was a great hostel, I would recommend anyone stay here. The facilities were clean and the place was charming. Location was excellent and close to all of the Kilkenny attractions. When I stayed there was a mixture of families and young travelers, which was a great mix.
