Great location with very nice and helpful staff. The only complaint I have is that the rooms were a bit noisy and the wifi wasn't great (it didn't work in the rooms on the top floor). But the kitchen was nice and big and the lounge was nice to hang out in.

For young travellers, exeactly like a youth hostel. Rooms of 6 beds, big kitchen for everyone, and sanitaries on the floor. It is clean and the staff is aware of any problem which could occur. And as usual in this kind of hostel, very very nice to meet people from any part of the world, but not safe at all, be careful, and you need to be lucky to have a good sleep...,ask for those in the back side! The rooms are not aerated, windows nned to be opened, but it is very noisy on the street.

Welcoming, friendly and very well placed hostel.

We were lucky enough to be one of the first guests in their new building (3 bed dorm). It was lovely inside with very comfortable beds, however there was no door in the shower so every time you shower water goes all over the bathroom (it isn't a wet room). Staff were great and there is a big kitchen and common room. Central Location.

Great hostel, really would recommend staying here. The staff are very friendly and have heaps of knowledge about things going on in the town. There is a board that is updated daily detailing what events are happening and where to go to see live music etc.. The rooms are clean as are the bathroom and kitchen. Good kitchen facilities and a chillout area too. The location is great close to train/bus stations and main sites like the castle.

This was a great hostel, I would recommend anyone stay here. The facilities were clean and the place was charming. Location was excellent and close to all of the Kilkenny attractions. When I stayed there was a mixture of families and young travelers, which was a great mix.

Fab hostel, we met a group of lovely backpackers straight away and spent the evening with them over the road in the pumphouse. I can't remember the name of lady who worked there (sorry!) but she was a wealth of infomration not only about Kilkenny, but about Ireland in general. We followed her advice and drove the Vee and went to Hi B in Cork - thank you so much for the tips!!

I wish to express my gratitude to the hostel and it's staff after a recent visit. The hostel provided me with a quiet room and excellent washing facilities the night before I underwent an early morning operation at a nearby hospital. It's well located, has all the requirements any traveller needs, and the staff are welcoming.

Wonderful breakfasttime, a lot of young traveller sit around the same table and talk together. Hot showers, good breakfast, very welcoming staff and booking a room here is not that expensive.

This is a really old hostel with loud squeaky doors. The top bunks don't have barriers on the one side which isn't good for someone like me who tosses and turns a lot at night. There's a code for the front door but it's never changed so someone not belonging to the hostel could find it out and come in. The staff were very helpful and nice. The location was good, it should say somewhere on the website how far it is from the station. It is quite a walk.

what a pity no breakfast was included...

While it's a bit of a walk from the bus stop, it is centrally located and offers a good value for your money. It feels more like a boarding house than a hostel as some of the guests live there while working or going to school, but some people do use it for brief stop-overs. The only real downside is that the pub across the street can get loud at night. Bring some earplugs. Also, the WiFi is spotty at best and only works downstairs in the lounge (open until 10pm).

Ground floor is very nice with a good kitchen and a nice common room. Shared bathroom especially toilets were very dirty and not really cleaned every day. If that would be better, the hostel would be very nice. So it is still Ok.
