Staff made us feel like we were interrupting their day when we arrived and they have to show us around. The security was quite poor as it appears as the codes for the doors are not changed. Staff did not seem concerned when there was no hot water in the morning.

Good hostel over all. Should try and create a TV room the way guests can chill and watch TV if they were planning a quiet evening. Great location ver close to the town centre and to all the good bars and pubs that Killarney has to offer. I would stay there again.

Have no reasons to say it's good or bad. It's an average hostel. Shower and breakfast could be better. Location is right in the city centre.

I have been to Sugan Hostel a few times, but got highly dissapointed this time. We got Room B which is a double room, little small but with own bathroom. So far, so good... Rooms are a bit noisy and doors are slamming hard- could handle that with a bit of respect shown by all guests. What I'm definitly not able to handle: Milfew all over the room, at walls, windows and also in the curtains. Not a little bit, really terrible all over the place! Thats definitly not ok and may be a huge Problem

Location+free tea was perfect. BIG BUT: our room was directly above the entrance of the pub next door. It was hard to sleep because the door was slamming every 5 min, the other night there was live music in addition to that with a very strong bass. The breakfast/common area was very cold all the time. The kitchen was even worse. There was no milk for the cereals. Left luggage consisted of leaving the bags under a bench in the common area... I never saw staff, we were almost alone

Very nice hostel, great atmosphere (e.g. oven and wooden tables in the common room). Everything clean. Cool + nice staff giving many useful hints. Breakfast is very simple, but ok as it is included. Wifi unfortunately works in the common room only. Heating was low(in April, about 10° outside), showers are hot, but don't give off much water. Kitchen is spacious and well equipped, but not heated. To sum up: th best hostel we found in Ireland :)

Very nice staff, clean and cosy common room.Could do with more water out of the shower and a way to control the heat of it (mostly ok warm- sometimes too hot) and a bigger basin would be nice, too. It wouldn't hurt to check all the kitchen material, whether it is still working or not, if not don't just throw it out- replace it.. The easy to handle tin opener, was definitely not working any more. Some mattresses should be exchanged into new ones- Some are quite worn out. Closing door shuts loud

My best friend and I stayed here and loved it! We had a private room that was spacious and had it's own bath attached. The location was great and the facilities were clean. The only complaint was that our room sat atop a pub that played loud music until dawn and the smoke and noise seeped through the thin walls. When we mentioned it to the staff they were extremely understanding and accommodating. We were very happy with this hostel-- would recommend to anyone!!!

Was very disappointed. Although the staff was great and the common room very comfortable, I thought the facilities had a rather inconvenient layout (the dorm rooms are in a different building). On top of that, the breakfast included in the price did not include any milk (so you couldn't eat the cereals or drink the hot chocolate provided). The dorm rooms were not heated very well, and the dorm rooms are right over a pub - that meant loud music till 6 o'clock in the morning on a Monday morning.

Always a good stay! Was quite the night I was there but there is usually good craic in the main room. Love that they cater to hill walks and the outdoors.

Sugan Hostel was our favorite hostel in Ireland. Everything was welcoming, clean and comfortable. We'll definitely be back to Killarney and this hostel!
