The people smoking outside the bar didn't let us sleep with all the noise People banging on doors at night and screaming Loud music Place was dirty

We were so dissapointed since the sugan received very good ratings before but when our group arrived there we were shocked. We booked 2 rooms and both were full of mould. The ceiling and especially in the bathroom and shower was worst. Neither was the bathroom (or any other room) cleaned for a veeery long time. There is no WiFi and the included breakfast doesn't exist. The kitchen is so dirty that you practically have no other choice as to eat out, preferably in the supermarket near the hostel..

My favorite night in Ireland was here. We stayed in the private room with ensuite bathroom. Comfy and clean. The best part was having drinks in the Shire! Wednesday night was the night we stayed and there was a group who played there. What a good time! And the staff were very friendly and very nice!!! I recommend thr hobbit juice! :) :)

All I can comment is that somebody decided to took a dump in the kitchen sink, so as you can imagine that ruined the stay for me, and mainly breakfast. It's basically a pub with a hostel beside. Doors work with a code, not with key, but at 2 and 7 am, both the main door and the door for the common areas were unlocked. We asked where to have dinner and told it was going to be almost impossible (it was 9pm). Found a Domino's Pizza opposite the hostel; an Indian and a Burguer King 5min away....

The hostel smells damp, and there was mold on the walls. The kitchen was so disorganized, and it was difficult to figure out what dishes were clean. The wifi did not work. And there was no one around in the morning to clean up after some terrible occurrences on Friday night.

Unfortunately bathroom and our room were covered with mold and were damp. The kitchen roof was leaking and pots were used to collect the water. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hostel is built over a pub and our room faced the pursued patio. Thus we heard people outside until well after 1-2 a.m. It's good place for people to party and get drunk.

We stayed in a private ensuite room and was OK. The good things of the hostel are the pub downstairs with good beers and good shots deals and the location. If you are staying in Killarney is a good option for sure.

Quiet hostel in the heart of Killarney. Attached to a good bar (which is where you actually check in - this was confusing at first). Definitely a more rustic feel, but everything was pretty clean and a nice size. Wifi not great in the rooms but fine in the common areas. Staff was helpful in helping us plan our time in town.

Well. This was the worst hostel we slept in Ireland. Mildew was everywhere in the rooms. In the bathroom, in the bedroom... we luckily had en suite room, because there is only one shower and one toilet available for the shared rooms. On the other hand - the common rooms were nice, the position of the hostel is amazing (right in the central part of the town; the railway station and bus station are nearby). Staff was very strange, only bored young men. Kitchen was in big mess. Breakfest very poor.

This lord of the rings-themed hostel is truly hobbit sized. The room that we had was tiny (double mattress + less than a meter floor space), and it was too expensive for what it was. The building is very old and not really fit for purpose.

It was good. It's quite centrally located, and the atmosphere was excellent . I am very happy I stayed there because I met some new friends and connections. Thanks

The place is very dirty and the room was moldy!

There is a very nice Lord of the Rings Pub next door, both Hostel and Pub belong together, the Hostel is very small and the rooms are rather little as well, there's breakfast included and the atmosphere is nice.

Not your typical hostel. You have to check-in at the bar next door and instead of key cards they have codes on each door. The codes are a pain as they are all different and can prove to be difficult to remember. Breakfast is less than sufficient, only toast and oatmeal. There was jam and honey most days, but ran out. Other than that the actual rooms are fine. Beds are decently comfortable and the location of the hostel rules. The bar that the hostel is attached to is a great time on a Saturday.

awful hostel, do not go there!

This place has a lot of potential of becoming a great hostel, it just needs a really good scrub from top to bottom, and a fresh lick of paint in the rooms. That being said I still had a good time here, staff was friendly and helpful and I've met some of the nicest people here. So all in all, it wasn't a bad stay. The place just needs a revamp...

i had a supernice stay in killarney! loved the shire and the lord of the rings beers! great staff willing to help you wherever you wanna go to. i booked a tour to the ring of kerry via the hostel and the staff brang us to the bus and we got a discount as well. the only drawback was the kitchen for me. there was a 'not so nice' smell and no dishtowels etc. to wash the dishes. but as i said: i loved it there and if i ever come back, i will go into this hostel again!

The hostel is located next to a pub where you'd go to ask the staff. You could have a drink and simply go next door and be "home"! It has a nice common room with slightly chatotic kitchen and nice rooms. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean (private double) and I'd definetely go again!

Had a lovely few days, excellent location with very friendly and helpful staff. The Shire bar also owned by the hostel is well worth a visit with excellent service and staff also.
