What stood out most was the poor value for money situation. The hostel doesn't look bad per se, but we stayed at 2 hostels (the other one costing 25 instead of over $70 per night & person) and there wasn't that much of a difference apart from the huge price difference. The lady who booked us in was very grumpy, only reluctantly helpful when we asked about the aircon (for which you must pay additionally) and the bathrooms bear really disgusting images of tropical diseases that cause nightmares.
