Pretty good overall, nice volunteer staff, a personal light on the beds and sockets would have been good additions. Biggest problem was that the showers (or at least one shower) didn't provide hot water all the time.
Helpful staff, great value, clean, reasonably close to Hongdae and the subway.
Loved Kimchee Hongdae! It's small but cozy and has a great atmosphere for young backpackers looking to meet others with similar interests. If I ever come back to Seoul, this is where I'm staying.
I'm sorry for the late review, but i had great time staying for one week at Kimchee guesthouse. It was located in a great area, it had good facilities and the staff was so friendly and helpful, they even brought a packet to the post office for me! thank you for everything!! Cheers!
This is one of those very large and rowdy hostels. Could be exactly what you're looking for though, especially staying in hongdae, great place to meet people and make the most of what Seoul has to offer! Shoutout to Gadi for being a cool guy!
First and foremost the whole staff is amazing! Especially Daniel, if he's there he can give great tips on the neighborhood and where to eat and party at. The place is very secure if you do not stay there you can not get in bottom line. The location is great right around the corner from all the bars and restaurants as well. The place is really chill and laid back, and the cleanest guesthouse I have ever stayed in. And this place is the best value for your money and you will meet a lot of women.
Great home to me. Staffs were nice and i liked the common area. just like home!

Stayed in Kimchee many times during my 3 months trip to Korea. Always came back here when returned to Seoul because I liked it so much. Good atmosphere and especially location. Really nice area! Also worked for the GH for a little while. Got so many new friends from fellow travellers and personnel as well. Especially big big thanks to Carter, who is the craziest korean guy and the best boss I've ever met! Thanks!!!
Limited space in the lounge area and the aircon was not working, same in the room i stayed in. The lounge area at the basement felt like a sauna. It was way too hot to stay there. The staff were very friendly though and they were very helpful and accommodating. I wish they have a better kitchen.
