The rooms were vile! Didn't look like they had ever been cleaned. The fan used to circulate air around the room was filthy and left you feeling grotty. There were three showers which left you with little privacy, one was out of order and the other had no handles to turn the taps. The staff were friendly enough but didn't make effort to involve you in any activities or improve your trip in Sydney. I would not recommend this hostel especially if you are travelling alone.

With one or two exceptions the staff are varying degrees of rude and incompetent. The eating/social area is quite nice, the TV room is very nice but the rooms have seen better days. The showers offer nowhere private to get changed (apart from one upstairs which has no lock on the door). Atmosphere is dominated by people who seem to do nothing but drink, sleep, and work - it's not my sort of party, it was rather lad-ish and rowdy.
Everything is really nice - good atmosphere (family feeling), nice staff, very good breakfast! They have often special... Toast for Dinner... Nachos for Dinner... And this is free! In this hostel many people stay as long terms. I will come back!
The worst hostel ever. Dirty, bad smell, cockroaches everywhere. Longtermers are so messy!! The used condom and the dirty underwear in my dorm - just grose!!
Atmosphere is great if you're looking for young, partying people. When you want to have a quiet moment on the living room, it's not always easy. But if you want to play beer pong, there'll always be someone. Facilities are cleaned everyday by a cheering staff. Still not perfect but good enough. Kitchen a bit small at peakhours. Staff very friendly, always there to help/provide advices.
They had just 3 toilets for the whole hostel and the one on my flore did not always lock. The Windows in the showers where always open and hard to cloes. Many longterners skremy and smelly. Staff was not that friendly and could just offer me a blanket when i was waking up because i was to cold and they did not have any duvies (the wether was horrible). Someone thru away my food and it felet like they where puting more efort on there longterners then us. Did not like it and would not go back!
this is a hostel for long term residents. really messy room. no character or atmosphere for short term travellers. Management/Staff don’t care much about guests or the conditions offered. they will always be full and cashing in is the most important. They could definitely learn 12 or 13 things with Lisbon hostels.
Staff were unwelcoming. Dorm room was dirty and bathroom facilities poor. Internet wifi service didn't work in bedrooms.
This hostel has nice staff that will try to help. It also feels safe here. It really is a young backpackers place for people who probably like to hang out and have fun at night, but that's fine if that's what you want. The only thing that was a major problem with my particular stay is that the toilet on my floor was not working and I had to go up a long flight of stairs in the middle of the night just to answer nature's call. They really should get another toilet installed.
Great staff. Lots to do. Free food some nights. Free Breakfast and Internet. Close to everything but off the strip so its quieter than many others. Clean. Great big lockers fit all my stuff easily. Need Power converters to lend possibly for a deposit like a room key. Comfy couches in tv room. Thanks Clair for the Toasties, they hit the spot.
Most of the staff was very friendly however there was one in particular staff member that would collect the garbage, she was not friendly nor did she wish to come off as friendly. Hostel or not, when people pay for a room that includes privacy and she would come in unnanounced, walk through the room and not say anything to any of us occupying the room. It was strange, and uncomfortable.

Very friendly staff. They clean the hostel every day, and its kept respectable. They have great wifi, chilling area with massive tv, Xbox and pool table. Toilets and showers are good condition and kept clean by staff and stayers. They also have laundry facilities which are good, you just gotta wait your turn. I loved the location, it was only two seconds from the kings cross strip and train station so nightlife was brilliant. Security code at door. I'll defo be goin back.
The free wifi and free breakfast are good for saving money. The rooftop is nice. The downstairs area is ok but the kitchen is a bit small for the size of the hostel. We spotted a cockroach in there once which put us off cooking there. The bedrooms were untidy and dark with no space left to unpack our things as it is mainly long termers staying who had made the room there own. There are no ladders to the top bunk which was annoying. Bathrooms were small and no privacy in showers only a curtain.
