Room stank of smelly feet when I arrived, guy at front desk was really helpful and gave me something to spray in the room, but the smell kept comming back, I think the rooms are in need of a thorough cleaning.

Enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly, well informed, and welcoming. The location is good, not far from the city centre and a few good pubs very close by. I was only in Cork for one night so didn't get to avail of the tv, internet, or kitchen facilities, but they were present! Couldn't comment on how they were though. My room was no thrills, but was well heated and clean. I would recommend Kinlay house to friends and would have no hesitation returning there on my next visit to Cork

Great hostel; I stayed in a single room and the room was clean with a sink. Hostel was quite centrally located and only 5 mins to city centre. Only downside were the showers which are push button showers where you cannot control time or temperature.

sensed indifference and disinterest from staff. duvet covers were old and looked shabby toilets and showers were clean but grills were off in womens toilet and sliding catch on door was difficult to manage so repairs were neglected. showers could not be adjusted for hot and cold and no hand held faucet shower head. kitchen area was clean and tidy and was inspected for that.

You wont be staying at this hostel long. The manager here is driving people away by not providing the kitchen with a fridge. The fridge he has is basically a press as the electricity is turned off to save him a few euro. But what he hasnt considered is that people will move out of his hostel alot quicker as your food wont even keep for a day.

The room was not so confortable; I was cold and there were not supplementary blanket, neither heating. They gave me only a sheet to cover me... There was not a hairdryer and the location was not so much easy to joint walking from the bus station. Breakfast very poor.

Good hostel that does the job providing the right facilities at the right price, but doesn't offer much by way of good surprises. I would go back.

Despite the fact that it is a hostel, you can sleep quite well at night and it's not too noisy. The parking is a problem because you can park freely in front of the hostel only from 6.30 pm and until 8.30 am, this means that if you want to visit the city during the day you have to pay for the parking buying what is called a "parking disc" at the supermarket in Shannon Street and change it every 2 hours! Very unconvenient!

Not clean. Strange smell. Staff were rude and very unhelpful when checking in.

The staff was really nice. The room was big, and the beds were comfortable. It was very quiet at nights, which isn't taken for granted in most hostels. They didn't have a curfew, but locked the door at 1 a.m. or so, so that noone who didn't belong there could come in. Above the shower was some mould, but I've seen worse. Other than that, the room was in a clean and comfortable state. I really enjoyed the stay at Kinlay House.

Lovely friendly hostel in a great location. Could do with some air freshners, and a change of linen given soap in the bathroom and the staff were very helpful though which was nice.
