Awful night... Impossible to sleep because my room was next to a road with lots of traffic and the windows didn't cover anything. And the bathroom is antiquated

We stayed in this hostel twice. Once early in the week, once later in the week. The early room with the ensuite bathroom was perfectly fine. It was on the ground floor and was solid. The second one on the third floor with the shared bathroom smelled awful probably due to a water leak. Very musty. Try to book ensuite rooms. Still, despite the musty smell (likely the old carpet) the beds and bathrooms were clean. Location is great, and value is solid. I would stay again, ensuite.

Hostel is in a great area and facilities are adequate. Showers were cold on my stay though!

Kinlay used to be good. Rooms were comfortable, it was clean, and everything worked. Now it seems to have fallen. It's still OK but it's dirty, my room had 10 beds jammed in a small space, poor ventilation, it stank. Both showers on my floor didn't work, no water at 8am. Breakfast was so-so, some juice would've been nice. When you check in, they hit you with a fee for using a credit card. They fine you for being late or sleeping in the wrong bed. You can do much better in Dublin for less $.

only negative thing to say is that the heating was not on in our two rooms.

The only negative to say is that Kinlay House Switched in the heating only in the evening. WE has two rooms were the Heating Did Not work. For November i thought that was very Poor.

Rather dirty place. Seemed like I had to pull the teeth of the staff just to give me a nice warm welcome and some helpful tips on what to do in Dublin. I'm sure that lack of choice for hostels in Dublin is certainly playing in their favor. Simple mistakes to fix with the right management!

Room had a black mold issue in the bathroom due to poor ventilation and my knuckles where cut when I tried to get in room as someone decided to open a door that opened onto me when I was putting in card. Last time I was there I was out back as it was much nicer.

Slept in the 24 bed dorm and it was well spaced out and tidy. Room was clean and tidy and beds were comfy. Under bed storage was great. Staff were helpful and friendly. Atmosphere was good. Sunday night movie was a good way to wind down after weekend. Bathrooms were tidy and sufficient.

Pros: Decent free breakfast. Being able to have some cereal, tea and toast is a great way to start your day. Good location. Away from the noise of Temple Bar, but close enough to that area to be there in 2 minutes. Clean rooms and common areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Reliable Wi-Fi. This is something a lot of other hostels lack. Things to improve: Provide a brief tour of the hostel upon arrival and update events blackboard Kitchen was good; buy better washing up liquid though

The staff was fantastic, great vibes and honestly the location couldn't have been better. They gave you clean bed sheet, but the room kind of smelled like sweat. Also the showers were freezing and took a long time to warm up in the morning. Overall, though, the location is so worth it!

Nice location. The hotel seems to be a bit old. There is no lockers in the rooms.

Friendly and efficient, laid back atmosphere, very good value, with good breakfast and ok beds, linen very clean. Some guy was in my lower bunk on the first night but I made it clear his bed was on the top for second night having swapped the bedding. Mixed international clientele, young and older, male and female.

Good situation, 2 steps from Temple Bar, Dame Street and facilities. Perfect to discover Dublin. Staff is friendly, smiley and there is always someone to help you. There are lockers for 2€/day. Good atmosphere, it's easy to share a table and start chatting. But there are few cons, specially with cleanliness of toilets & baths and with facilities in kitchen (1 million cupboards and no labels for tools, no milk & coffee available all day, no basics spicies for cooking, you have to buy evrthg!)

Amazing location, the staff was awesome and very helpful. We stayed in a 16 bed dorm, and it was not bad. The bathrooms and showers were clean, the common room/dinning room was nice but seemed small for such a large hostel, if it is busy and you are not there early you won't be able to sit down to eat in the morning. The wifi was great in the common room but it was a hit and miss in the dorm room.

Not your typical hostel. Seems to be a lot of loud groups and is harder for single travelers to meet people here. Bathroom was horrendous and breakfast is the most minimal I've experienced. Of the 5 staff I've interacted with only one was great (eastern European girl) other than that the guys were just tiresome and rude. This hostel nickel and dimes you like nothing. The rates double on weekends too. Of the 150 hostels I've stayed at I'd say BOTTOM 10 on the list for sure. Happy travels!

Only spent one night here, so I won't be able to give it 100%, however in the time we were there, the staff was friendly and the beds were clean. Also the airport shuttle is very handy.
