If you enjoy big hostels in the city, with a mostly younger crowd that just likes to party and sit around on their laptops, this might be the place for you. I was hoping for more interaction between residences but that was not the case and for the price, I did not enjoy my visit.

Positive points: great location (about 200 metres from Christ Church Cathedral & Dublinia and about 300m from St Patrick's Cathedral) - right on the edge of Temple Bar (so great for night out AND a good night's rest afterwards). Average: Staff was ok ,not overly nice, but hey, what would you expect the day after new year's eve... Rooms were spacious Negative: lockers are outside though - not in the room. Bathroom could have been cleaner

I definitely recommend the Kinley to everyone who want to spend some time in Dublin. We were 2 couples staying in a 4 bedded ensuite bedroom. Quite clean, safe, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff and the position is excellent (sideward the Christ Church Cathedral) really handy to reach all the interest places as Temple Bar, St. Patrick Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Trinity College and all the "shopping areas"). You have every every thing at your fingertips :) P.S. -> Good value for money

I enjoyed my stay, but the beds are not very comfortable. I guess you can't expect 4 star beds in a hostel :)

We very much enjoyed our stay in the hostel! There was sufficient furniture in our bedroom (even a mirror =P). Everything was quite clean, en the atmosphere in the dining room was very nice.

The staff was friendly but the hostel was kinda empty when I went. They were closing for christmas eve the next day though so I didn't mind. The bathrooms were kinda old but they weren't too bad.

I was supposed to stay at the Kinlay House, but instead they moved my booking to what they called their 'sister hostel' the Avalon House. I must say I was a little suspicious (what kind of hostel closes at xmas anyways) but the Avalon Hostel proved itself a really great hostel. Very good place to meet people, good and clean toilets, nice overall facilities and atmosphere. The only drawback was that the room was freezing. The heaters didn't work. I recommend the Avalon Hostel and will come back.

It is really clean. They actually do a good job at maintaining the hostel nice and clean. Pubs are nice and close to walking distance. In the shared rooms, the beds are really close to each other and rooms are sort of small, but you get used to it. Overall it's a very nice hostel! Surely recommend to anyone looking for a safe clean cheap place to stay.

The hostel was lovely, and loved that there were little separate sections with the beds. I do wish there was a lift though, as walking up to the top floor did become a bit of a nightmare.

The hostel was quite good. The fully equipped kitchen is a big plus. It did lack a little atmosphere and as a single traveller it would of been nice if there was some sort of activities to the the lodgers interacting together. But this could of been due to the fact it was off season

The common rooms, kitchen areas and other shared facilities were fine however the bathroom in the 4 girl dorm was disappointing. The curtin that was in place for a shower wall was appauling and the shower floor is also the toilet floor made water go everywhere and very unpleasant.

The sheets were not very clean. It was difficult to sleep due to the noise outside and the poor isolation. my bed in a four persons room was very uncomfortable, it was deformed.

I love Kinlay house! It has a great location with a friendly helpful staff . I especially like that they offer peanut butter at breakfast so you have an food option if you don't drink milk (the standard hostel fare seems to be cereal and toast and milk)

I can’t deny that I did enjoy this hostel partly due to the hostel but also partly due to Dublin. The rooms were clean but very very cold. The bathrooms had hot water but the toilet seats weren’t really bolted down. The staff were all friendly but not overly helpful. Saying that the location is amazing, the bar out the back was a really nice place to go for a pint and the option of a free breakfast never goes astray. Over all not the best not the worst by far though.

LOCKERS: I never book a hostel where I don't have the option of having a locker where I can store away my things! I made sure to look that Kinlay house did, however upon arrival the lockers were not suitable! They were located outside the hostel building, in an unlocked building, and they lockers themselves were more like dog kennels. You could see exactly what was inside all the lockers! NOT very safe at all and I didn't feel comfortable leaving my things in there after paying to use one.

We loved the place because of its style and position, really close to the city center and to the bus stop from/to the airport. We'll definitely stay there again the next time!

Good location, clean and safe. Rooms are warm. Only negative is it is right by a main busy road so difficult to sleep sometimes.

Perfect location - easy to reach from airport (bus stops directly out front) within walking distance from Temple Bar but far enough away to be nice & quiet. 20min walk to Connolly station, Trinity College on same road about 10min walk & Christ Church Cathedral literally just across the road. Free breakfast was sufficient, shower worked a lot better than I expected & the common room was great with TV, DVDs, pool & tabletennis tables, computers with internet access. Free wifi & helpful staff.
