Staff were helpful and fresh bread in the morning was a nice touch. Free shuttle bus to and from the airport is a great idea but they only pick up and drop off at certain times. So if you're lucky you could wait 40 minutes and if you're unlucky more like two hours!

Except for the heater, nothing else was remotely good. It would be better if they renovated the washrooms. the place is too congested, there should have been more room to walk around inside the place.

the things i like this hostel the most was the free air port pick up and drop off. free breafast every morning, free coffee, tea and chocolate all day. very helpful and friendly staff. apart from that its a nice cozy house to stay at if you want to get rid of noices where you most likely encounter when staying at chain hostel in the city center.

The hostel does free pick up which is great. the room we had was double shared bathroom. the only problem we had was that it smelt really weird.

Perfect place, just walking distance to city central (even though it's closed for temp :( ). Best thing was I left my wed ring in a room after checkout, and they willing to come and send it back to me at the airport.

Overall, it is a nice place to stay with the price. The additional service given was the airport transfer which give Kiwi Basecamp a plus point. With the free breakfast (toast bread & drinks), it was value for money. However it was a bit run down & need to buck up on the cleaness.

Hostel wasn't badly damaged in the earthquake so is still open for business. Our room was recently painted & new carpets- but the room managed to lack any character. The rooms are very basic. Hostel was a bit cramped & only 3 toilets (that we could find). Really good thai restaurant around the corner!!

Their was nothing special about this hostel. It looked like someone took an old rundown house and made it into a hostel. The staff was unprofessional and loud, and the kitchen was dirty. If you want a place to lay your head--stay here.

The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. This was a nice place to stay at in Christchurch, and the free airport shuttle is a nice touch too.

Don't bother going to Christchurch there is nothing left to see anymore!Unfortunately most of the nice hostels are in the red zone, this leaves a very limited choice. This hostel was a on busy street, rooms were small and noisy. Didn't seem much in the way of entertainment or any organisation.Staff weren't friendly and had a can't be bothered attitude. The guy at reception was still in his Pj's when he checked me in mid-morning. I'm glad I only stayed a night, if your only passing through its ok!

Extremely terrible stay, the worst thus far after travelling to17 cities around NZ. Two good points, free pickup from the airport and ingredients for breakfast. Either than that, terrible from start to finish. Pick up unfriendly and unhelpful.Kitchen small and poorly maintained. We had to find the kitchen ourselves and were not told it was under construction. Water undrinkable-cloudy.Lighting terrible-saving lighting on the stairs but using neons in the rooms.Rooms-unfurnished,low value for price

Really friendly and the staff were really helpful, They have done an amazing job keeping the hostel running and fixing it up after the earthquake. Very little distruption. The tour of Christchurch was informative, the only thing is that the bus could of stopped a few more times so we could take pictures etc. Over all really good stay, Thank You!!!
