This a beautiful hostel in the middle of nowhere. So it your looking for a party, this is not the place. if your looking for a quiet place close to hiking and nature-this is it.

While this hostel was purpose built to accommodate groups mostly, it is also very suited to walkers and cyclists... convenient to the Wicklow Way and other great hikes in the area. I stayed for the weekend to do just that. It has been a few years since my last visit and nothing much has changed except there in now wifi which is great. The place is still pretty top notch! The only thing you have to watch is the groups using the self catering kitchen as they can overrun it easily.

this is an excellent hostel if you are hiking along the wicklow way. very warm room and comfortable bed. a decent free breakfast in the morning. it is in an isolated location but i walked down to the local town enniskerry and then got a taxi back. there is also a bus service available. anyway if youve just made a long days hike it is a peaceful place in a beautiful location to unwind and get a good nights sleep.

Very clean and new and modern and nice but kind of a cold, impersonal feeling about the place. Also, you have to go outdoors to go between the dorms and other parts of the hostel. It was very cold at night. The toilet/shower was en suite though which made it okay.

Hi there, really enjoyed the stay. The hostel needs a little bit of TLC, e.g. numerous light bulbs out around the place - outside dorms, in toilets etc. making it a bit hard to get about in the dark. Also, as most folk seem to self cater, more sinks (there's only 1 !) in the kitchen. A few of the pieces of furniture are also looking a bit tired & tatty. None the less, I would go back as I enjoyed the place.

Knockree Hostel was located in a very beautiful area. The staff were very friendly and happy to help out as much as possible. The rooms in the hostel were very nice especially for the cost. My only reservation about this hostel is it's location. If you are younger or traveling alone make sure you take note that this hostel is no where near the bus stop and a taxi must be paid for. I think it would be great if the hostel could create some type of van system to the bus stops of few times a day.
