Vey nice hostel, good facilities, location and value for money. My stay in the dorm was ruined by noisy people and very small (I\'m 6\'2\"), wobbly bunk beds. I upgraded to the private room and was definitely worth it if you can afford more. It\'s a shame the staff couldn\'t match the quality of the place. They were rude, obnoxious, unhelpful, stoned constantly and clearly trying to make as much money off you as possible. I\'ve stayed in hostels all over the world and never met people like this!

I found dead cockroaches found in my bedsheets! I don't expect hostels to be the world's cleanest, but this was simply disgusting. I've stayed in may hostels (30+) around the world and this was one of the more disgusting ones for sure. The washrooms were also pretty nasty. I'm sorry, I can't recommend this hostel. Will try another one next time.

No lockers and I didn´t receive a key for the room, door remained always open. Although nothing was stolen.

If booking through Hostelworld, call before your arrival to make sure the hostel has indeed recorded your stay! My reservation was not in their system when I arrived and the dorm was fully booked. They were accommodating, they gave me clean sheets and let me sleep for free on the couch. But if you want to avoid this, call to confirm as it sounds like a recurring issue.

Great location, I enjoyed it very much. They should have a bus trolley schedule that help people out...

I spent 4 nights in the mixed dorm. It was not very clean and the air circulation was bad. With so many people in a small room, it gets very muggy and smelly without fresh air. I didn't experience bed bugs, but one of the other guys had bites all over. I just hope none came home with me in the luggage. On the plus side the staff and the other guests was nice and the social atmosphere was good. The locations was close to everything and the price reasonable for Hwaii.

solar heated water that was always cold so be prepared for cold showers. They over booked the hostel so I had to sleep outside. They did refund my money for the night. The neighborhood isn\'t great and about 15 people share one bathroom. For $25 I wouldn\'t complain. It just isn\'t quite as good as some of the other hostels I have stayed in. The location is the best hostel location in kona (there are only two). Fellow travelers there were awesome.

I paid $120 for two rooms and ended up having random people come into my space for extended amounts of time. No hot water and dirty floors. If I wanted to share a space I would have paid $25 for a shared dorm room.

The manager was rude and not friendly, at some point she was lecturing me like my mom. I saw her do it to another guest too. The front door was always unlocked and only the girls room had a key. However, nothing got stolen. I saw two cockroach one in the bathroom and another in the bedroom, just under my bed. The hostel has two shared rooms. One only for girls and the other one mixed. The mixed room has a very uncomfortable mattress

They left me in the hot sun at the airport, forgetting to pick me up. Boys came through the room to take showers saying theirs was broken. I got bedbugs and bites all over me with big purple welts! Also, after having been away all day, my food was gone from the fridge--they eventually gave some of it back to me just before I left the next day, but a terrible, terrible place.

I have stayed at many hostels and find this one to be top-rated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The manager does an awesome job showing great consideration to her guests and neighbors. I witnessed an encounter with a very undesirable character that wanted to stay here and Claudia handled the situation most admirably. The guests were very cheerful and friendly with the exception of one guy that was apparently expecting a 5-star hotel.Claudia shows much passion for this place, thanks.

I'd just warn other visitors that the reception is closed between midday to 5 pm, which can be quite inconvenient. Nice location, don't know whether the private room is worth the money, especially as the room in which I was staying didn't have a window which closed, so it became quite noisy and cold during the night.

Though I enjoyed my time there, the staff made it quite difficult! This lady who apparently was the manager was just completely rude! She was unwelcoming when I first arrived, then she came to my private room uninvited, without knocking the door, to according to her check something on the fridge! Again that was rude! beside being a chain smoker who will smoke right in front of the hostel, she will always ask me where I was going n what was ibringing into the hostel. I will never stay there
