This is the second time I have stayed in this hostel, and it\'s been good to me so far.
The staff was more than willing to help me find the cheapest way to get to the QiZhong tennis stadium, which is about 110rmb by cab from the bund.
If my stay requires me to stay in the bund side, I would definitely consider stayiing here again.This is the second time I have stayed in this hostel, and it\'s been good to me so far.

The room we got was moldy and smelled awful and there was an old cigarette butt on the floor of our bathroom.

This is excellent value for money as it is basically a hotel with fridge, microwave and filter tap. The location is not central but it's ok, about 5 min walk from metro, and close to a large tesco supermarket where you can stock up on supplies. However, it's not great for meeting other travellers, and a lot of things don't work properly eg clothes dryer, flush on toilet, temperature and pressure control on shower etc etc. On balance I would still stay here again though. Great value hostel with large rooms and friendly staff. Clear toilet door in the bedroom is a bit strange, but nothing that can't be overcome. Nice little local restaurants nearby for the budget conscious. Watch out for the mozzies when using the free internet though. The staff at Koala was very helpful. Answered every question we had and provided suggestions. Service with a smile. The rooms (at least ours) have a lot of character. Grade A hostel in fairness. Nice rooms also. The bathroom doors are made of glass?? I dont know why..

The toilets had no doors, but only a sliding glassdoor and a drapery. Also it seemed like the staff were using the few computers for the guests, whick made it hard to get to use internet.
