I had planned on staying in Kobe for 2 nights, but ended up staying there for 4 since I liked the hostel so much. The staff is very friendly, and go out of their way to be helpful. I had the private room since I'd been in dorms for 2 weeks and it was large and comfy and had it's own heating/cooling. The only downside is that it's a good 10mins from the train. But the train takes you downtown in 2 stops. Very safe neighborhood, and near sake museum and grocery store.

Friendly staff- I was running late on my train and was going to miss the latest check-in time, but the woman at the desk called me to see if I was having trouble and kept the desk open longer to check me in. The only reason I rated security low was because my locker did not have a door or key (the others did though). Also the front door was unlocked all the time, even when the staff were out, so anyone could have walked in and stolen my bag.
