The sleeping compartments were great. More privacy that most hostels. The location was within walking distance of most of the city. The facilities were not as clean as any other Japanese hostel that I've stayed at, but were still cleaner than most European/Asian hostels.
We feel like the staff doesn't really care what was happening in the hostel or who was there, nor how their customers feel or what they need. Personally, we think that for the same price you might find places whit a more friendly and warm atmosphere. Beside this, the capsules look like a bit old and sloppy. However, they were big enough and quite private with the curtains. The showers were in the ground floor, near the entrance to the hostel, which is not really pleasant, but they were clean.
Pretty decent hostel, a little old and rustic but really convenient area. The bedding was clean and seemed pretty new, but the bottom bunk mattress was way too soft for me which made it difficult to sleep well. The light fixture in our room was an exposed light bulb hanging from the ceiling which didn't seem entirely safe. Good for an overnighter at least, though!
Great place to stay for a quick overnight. They have bike hire and are very friendly. Room was all we needed, would stay here again.
Very friendly and hospitable staff. Gave me some helpful advice regarding transport and food options. Very kind and welcoming. I highly recommend this place for its location, cleanliness, and staff!
Really friendly and helpful staff. Free tea/coffee and hot water. Had to hire towels, but overall a good experience and comfortable stay. 24hour access to the building so could stay out late.
I only stayed for a night but it was fine. Comfy bed, clean, all you could need.
Very accurate directions. Staff has difficulties with English, but is very helpful. The provided kitchen is not very convenient and it seemed maily used by the staff. Rooms were, as expected, tiny, but air on and fan were provided, which was needed. They also sell little bags made from used kimonos, handmade by the mother of the hostel owner, which are just wonderful. It is overall nice enough to stay there one night.
