My fiance and I came to stay for a few nights here, and we loved the great views of Mancora and the beach, as well as the bungalow atmosphere and full-service breakfast. We had a private room with a shared bath, and had plenty of privacy. The downside is that the hostel sits on top of a big hill, and the only access is on foot via a slightly scary dirt path. The other downside was the noise- you can hear all the party music from the town below (every night!) because it echoes up to the hostel.

Kon Tiki is a nice place, the breakfast was very good and the view is great. The way up and down the hill was not that nice, especially after dark, the water in the common shower was cold/lukewarm and due to the open windows (no glass just mosquito nets) it got quite cold and noisey during the night in the double. Some cons but all in all a recommended stay.

this hostel had real character. The views are outstanding! Got picked up at the bus station in the white beetle and laundry can be done here. There was building going on when we were here so it will be even bigger in January.

A real great option if you want to escape from the madness of the beach. Amazing views overlooking the town and real friendly staff who will even pick you up in there old VW bettle from the bus stop which was an experience in itself.

Kona Tiki is a nice hostel with an above average view & location. The problem isn't the hostel, it's the town. Mancora is the noisiest destination I've ever stayed in. I was there Thurs-Mon and the discos in town played their music from 10P til 4AM so loud earplugs did little. Walls were vibrating my last night there. No sleep to be had. Call me crazy but I like to sleep at night. Much prefer nearby Vichayito. If you're not afraid of crazy loud noise bring earplugs and enjoy!

Maybe the BEST Hostel you can find in the whole Country! I have been in many many Hostels, but I have never seen a Location with so beatiful rooms and a view over the whole City/Sea for this price! Also the stuff is really friendly! I really can recommend you this place!
