Very nice and small hostel at a good price for Easter Island. Nice view!
Excellent place to stay on Easter Island. A short walk to the main street and relaxing atmosphere. Wifi is only available at the front of the hostel, but when you visit Easter Island you shouldn't spend much time on the internet anyway. If you're okay with basic, generally clean accommodation that is well-priced (so you can put your money towards everything else on this expensive little island), then Kona Tau is the place for you.
I had a very pleasant stay at Kona Tao. The hostelwas clean, quiet and only a short walk from the main street. I can totally recommend that hostel.

Kona Tau has great atmosphere. It's an easy walk to town. It's very clean with good showers and a nice kitchen. They pick you up from the airport and drop you off for free. The breakfast is small; it's just bread a piece of fruit. The only real problem is that the staff was hardly ever around and it was hard to find someone to talk to. The staff was there in the afternoons, but we could never find anyone at night or in the morning.
I was moved into a room which had a locker with no lock. If I had a lock there, that would have been perfect. Other than that, everything was great! The breakfast was good and I would definitely stay here again if I was back on Rapa Nui.
This hostel was one of the best I've stayed.Though it was a bit expensive,it's acceptable, given that everything in Easter Island is expensive too.The thing I liked most is the breakfast!Everyday it's diferent. And it's yummy!!!There was hot water for 24 hours, and the sheets were clean though had a humid smell,I think it was just the weather.Well, everything was perfect. It was a cherry on the sundae!
Easter Island is expensive but this hostel is a pretty good deal compared to everything else you'll find on the island. The rooms are made up for you daily and their is a fresh breakfast everyday.
Close to the airport, no complaints at all, staff were great!
It is not easy to find the staff when you need help. Most of the time they are not in the reception. In addition, only the owner (Oscar) can speak some English and other staff can't speak which makes the communication difficult.
