This place is way better than a regular hostel. Very clean & super quite. You can find pretty much anything you needed for cooking and stuff. . No air conditioning in the rooms, but the fan was ok for me in 35 degrees. Wendy was super helpful and sweet. It is close to downtown and I could easily walk there. Also very close (5 minute walk) to a grocery store. The location was excellent! I would definitely recommend it.

Hostel located on the outskirts of Brisbane (approx 20mins walk into the centre). Hostel rooms were very small and located in what seemed like the basement. The location of rooms made us feel less secure. The hostel had a communal kitchen/dining area, which again was very small and did not allow many people to be in there at once. The hostel only had 2single showers, which made it hard first thing in the morning!Internet access very slow.Day trip to Moreton Island fantastic&well recommended.

Of you need a break from party oriented hostels - this is a great place to stay. Nice quick walk into the CBD (but not as hand as the party themed palace backpackers) hostel also has free wifi which is a must (and the pesky nomad branded hostels charge through the roof for!). Staff very friendly. Only critique - whilst the showers were lovely and the cleanest (and newest) I've seen in ages, there aren't enough so at peak hours in the morning be prepare to que.

The inn was distinctly Ozzy style and welcome all the staff were cheerful and happy to help. The facilities were good and clean would definitely recommend a stay there. They could do with moving the fridge from beside the bed but apart from that a pleasant stay.

This place suits someone who works full-time and wants peace when he or she gets back. The location is a bit far away from Fortitude Valley and Queen St Mall. Therefore, this place is not suitable for party people and people who love noise.

Now that is really one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Not only the all very, very friendly staff and the top location. They have all facilities a backpacker needs and more and simply make you feel so very much at home. Thank you very much - highly recommendable!!!!

A great place to stay in Brisbane. It's charming, more like a motel. Good location in a residential-commercial neighbourhood about 10 or 15 minutes walking from the Roma St Station and the CBD and about the same from Fortitude Valley (a dinning and nightclubbing area ) and Chinatown. It includes wireless Internet, they told me not to expect the best but it was actually very good. Has TV and good kitchen facilities (a supermarket is very close). Free from drunk, loud and smelly backpackers :)

A very cute hostel close to the city centre of Brisbane. The owner was very nice and helpful. The bathroom and kitchen were nice and clean. The room was ok, but it smelled like dog (the owner has 2 large dogs).

I came after check in hours due to a late plane and was very worried when I saw reception was closed, I rang the door bell and when I saw the light come on was very worried about being greeted by an angry staff. Instead I was greeted by the most lovely women who said you must be Chris. The next day was very helpful in finding me tranpsort.

Kookaburra Inn was exactly what we were hoping for. A nicely maintained quiet place in a fairly central location. No fuzz about arriving a bit later than expected. The key was waiting at the office door with a friendly note. This was very much appreciated, even though we still met the friendly managers. A comfy bed, towels, fridge and a sink in the room added to our satisfaction. Thanks!

Friendly and helpful staff, in a quiet location, about 15 minutes walk from the city center. Probably not for the party animals but then I'm not one!

Cute little Guest House. Very welcoming with a warm atmosphere. The staff was extremely approachable and helpful. Rooms and common areas are in good condition and clean. Quiet location despite its proximity to the city center. Would definitely recommend this place.

Boutique backpacker. On one hand it is a typical backpacker with shared kitchens, showers and toilets; on the other hand it is neat and clean, my room had a sink and a personal fridge (!). It is rather a motel than backpacker. Good place to sleep quietly if one wants to, good place to meet new people as well. Perfect for a couples on a budget, a bunch of friends or singles. Close to either cbd or china town. Cozy sports bar and 2 bottle shops that are open late (!) are up the street, on a Terace
