You get what you pay for at this hostel - which is not a whole lot. It does the trick though for the budget traveller and is a nice laid back place. Free cold filtered water and view of the river is a bonus for sure!

worst hostel i ever stayed at. hostel was dirty, toilets were broken, mosquitoes made it impossible to sleep, they overbooked the hostel and had people sleeping on the floor in the commmon room.

I am pretty sure there were bedbugs in the bed I took (dorm room, bed 2). It was the least enjoyable night I spent during my time travelling in Malaysia. Also, it is unfortunate and almost unacceptable that there were problems with overbooking the night I was there. I was unable to get the room I had booked as it was not free. If you are unable to coordinate your real-life booking with your online bookings you should consider not using online booking services. Your phone number online is wrong

I had a great stay in Melaka here at L'armada. Hassan was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was really relaxed and it felt so comfortable there. I would definitely go back and stay there :)

We were checked in by a guest and didn't even see the owner until late at night. We were shown two rooms to choose from; one was musty without ventilation, and the other had exterior windows. We chose the one with windows. The room was unbelievably hot, even with the fan directed on us all night. No screens on windows, so mosquitoes were biting throughout the night. We left after one night, couldn't take the heat, even though we'd been in SE Asia for months. Wi-Fi is decent. Bed was comfortable.

Don't expect the luxury!! this place has been made for low budget travelers! I really enjoyed this place, the staff is really nice, you feel like home and cheap compare to surrounding hostels

The guesthouse was more than we've expected, clean and cosy rooms, a big living room, excellent view and very close to the Chinatown. It's off the main street so you can't hear the traffic and can leave the window open for fresh air. A small drawback for us was that we could hear the early morning prayers from the nearby mosque, but still i would recommend it to my friends
