Great find. Clara is very nice and arranged for our washing to be collected and returned by the local launderette, which turned out to be excellent value. Great view of the late from the garden, it is very clean and so quiet. A place for couples. Only downside is the up hill walk back from town but we found it fine and even did it at night. It's also really close to Atlo El Fuego - the best steak in Argentina (book though!).

La Barraca Suites is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The owners are friendly and attentive, and helped us get a feel for Bariloche. The hostel itself has tremendous views of the lake and mountains, and is just a short walk from the downtown area. The rooms are comfortable and spotless, but artwork adds a lot of character to them. Some rooms have great views. Breakfast is simple, but good-- and the presentation is great.

If you want to stay in a beautiful,clean,newly rennovated hotel with helpful owners, this place is for you! It is situated in the street with lots of shops and cafes and close to the centre.It is an ideal place to relax and enjoy a wonderful garden with a view over the lake.Rooms are clean and comfortable,the hotel has a nice family atmosphere.

Some fruit for breakfeast will be ideal.

Happy Clara emailed us b4 we arrived & made dinner reservations. But when she left for the wknd, the asst. wasn’t around. Folks rang bell asking for rooms & guests couldn’t help, nor is it our responsibility to unlock front door for them. Also, we were ordered to move room, w/ no explanation. We moved to a much smaller rm. The day of the move, we gave up our key to explore. We got back at 3pm & front door locked. We had no keys to the new rm & waited outside for 15 min for asst. to let us in.

It felt much more like a B and B. Nice and quiet, a nice retreat for a couple. It has wonderful views over the lake but it is quite far up a steep hill. The room was a good size and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

What a beautiful place to stay! Nice and quiet, with a view to the lake and within walking distance to the centre. Excellent value for money and beautifully furnished. On the down side, the shower in our room didn't work and was not fixed when we reported it, and the bed had a dip in it in the middle. Apart from that, top notch!

Great hostel, very nice and helpful staff! The hostel is located at just 10 minutes from the center, but the road is really steep.. Amazing view from the common room too, definitely one of the best hostels we've stayed in in two months!
