Awesome hostel. Great place to meet other travelers and have some fun. Facilities are tops.. Bar, restaurant, pool table, pool, TV, bathrooms. Located very close to the beach and many bars and restaurants. Sure to have an enjoyable time. One negative though.. The rooms are very warm.

This is an awesome hostel! Its always has an awesome crowd, and party atmosphere thanks to the owners and the awesome bar staff of travelers. Brisa Loca is the best place to meet people and their facilities always give you stuff to do from watching TV on a giant screen, to 3 happy hours, to chillin on the roof and reading a book, if you want some alone time. A well thought out and american managed hostel which is well worth a stop on your travels. Best hostel by far in Santa Marta!

I stayed at La Brisa Loca for a total of 15 days whilst volunteering in Santa Marta. The staff made feel at home as well as the food, which is excellent. There is a nice roof top terrace with comfy hammocks and a pool where you can cool off quickly. The location is also very good, just steps from the beach and nice restaurants. If you like to meet new people and make new friends this is the place to be. For those reviewers commenting on the music, lonely planet says to travel with ear plugs.

the kitchen is the most disgusting one I ever saw. the staff is nice, it has a great atmosphere for wild party people, which I am not. I liked the rooftop hamocks a lot and the pool is sorta cool. the bar is nice and the breakfast too ( extra like everywhere here) lots of beer and drunk ppl

La Brisa Loca was a very nice hostel. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Two suggestions. One, the rooms on the second level can be extraordinarily warm and have little ventilation. I would recommend that La Brisa Loca purchase a few floor fans in addition to the ceiling fan. I think this would make a big difference at a low cost. Second, the pool was a little murky, and detracted from the cleanliness of the hostel, anything to keep the water clear would be great.

Loved the rooftop terrace, bartenders, complimentary beer, and the dogs! As for security, even though we had to be buzzed in to enter the building, I felt like almost anyone could have entered (I wasn't sure if the staff actually check to see if the people at the door are guests).

La Brisa Loca was amazing, it has a pool, a bar, a guest kitchen and a rooftop terrace. The price is very good and the staff are really fun and accommodating. It is just a short walk from the beach and it's very close to Parque de los Novios, which is where lots of cool restaurants are located. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants a good time for a really good price, it's a really great hostel!

4-bed room, w/ air cond and private bath: big and clean. Would recommend. 6-bed room w/o air cond and shared bath: too small for so many beds, could not sleep because of HEAT and noise as it is next to the bar. Avoid. Overall: nice location, good lockers but missed keys to enter rooms, missed included breakfast and/or common kitchen, nice staff (especially girl at frontdestk in the morning), beautiful roof and nice swimmingpool. Would give a try again if I am not in need of good night´s sleep

This is a beautiful hostel with a fun bar and great pool. I was really sick during my stay here and the staff were so kind and helpful to me. I would definitely recommend the hostel though, the location is good and the dorms are big and have many big fans for the hot weather, thank goodness!

This is one of the better large hostels I have stayed at. The music is really loud at night so avoid if you do not want a party place. The only real complaint I have is that I went to a beach party organised by the hostel and it was really poorly organised and we were not really told what was going on.

The only thing i don\'t like so much is in the breakfast you have only free your coffee. If you want to eat something you have to pay for it. After that, the hostel is awesome!

Nice enough location, not a whole lot in Santa Marta, only really worth staying here on your way to Taganga or to head to Ciudad Perdida. Nice place to base yourself out of before and after the trek or if heading to Tyrona.

Bathrooms pretty dirty, really poor in comparison to all the hostels I have stayed in SA. Does what it says on tin - its a party hostel.

Classic gringo hangout with a breakfast bar full of sad faces from the previous night. Breakfast is good (not free). Staff are ok. Location is excellent. Santa Marta is pretty average anyway and this place does little to improve it. Taganga isn't Hawaii but my God its better than the Santa Whatever.

The staff is very friendly and there is a really good atmosphere. The place is very clean, but they have a couple of dogs in there and a cat that are harmless. We stayed in a private room with a private bathroom and it was really nice, the room had a fan and at night that really came in handy for the heat. I totally recommend it!

Hostel itself was great, but there was no water in the bathrooms at night for some reason, the pillows were horrible and the room we were in was freezing from the aircon. The building itself is beautiful and the bar is fun, the rooftop patio is amazing and the bathrooms were clean and good in the morning once there was water. I would stay there again, but in a room with a fan only.
