I stayed at la Brisca loca for one night and wished I could have stayed longer. The facilities are great (really good, big showers!) and the bar and food served is also very good. I stayed on a Saturday night and there was an excellent rooftop party going on. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I recommend this hostel!
Food was so good - roof top terrace was sweet as well
This is definitely a party hostel. Do not go there if you want to rest. Dorms are quite cramped and dark. Lots of common areas to mingle. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

This place is, as the name sais it, LOCO! If you're looking for a quite retreat don't even bother checking in hear. A party hostel as you find it in the books. Great location, great building, good beds, nice staff and good food but it gets loud at night and the parties go until the early morning.
My husband and I loved our stay at La Brisa Loca. Everyone was very friendly and the place was very clean. The food in the bar is really good as well. I would definitely recommend La Brisa if you are looking for a lively, welcoming hostel in Santa Marta.

Staff very helpful and friendly especially on reception (lola and one guy). Only one observation we did with other people who were hosted, is that the person who abides the bar does not understand Spanish and there are people who come to practice the language. I have found a few cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom.
The hostel has a good setup but the rooftop bar has so much potential and should be used more instead of the downstairs bar that has small tables and doesn't really encourage a lot of interaction. Besides that but the staff were always helpful and friendly.
Seriously one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. That includes most of Europe too. It's got two bars. One on the roof which is incredible and the one inside gets nice and rowdy in a good way. Awesome place!
Really good hostel for a night or two- cockroaches but they're unavoidable in Santa marta I think
Definitely a gringo hotspot. Friendly bi-lingual staff will answer your questions about the area as well as help you with anything you need to travel into nearby Parque Tayrona. The hostel offers to keep your luggage safe as you travel in the park without additional cost. The second floor bar and pool room is a great place to meet other travelers and the third floor rooftop area has various hammocks and beds for relaxing.

Staff were a bit rubbish, we asked for a recommendation for a restaurant and she just pointed us towards a row of restaurants that weren't good at all. The rooftop bar (the reason we booked) wasn't open until the last night of our stay, bear in mind what nights you're staying cos it only seemed to be open Thursday Friday and Saturday. Rooms and showers were clean, quite a good atmosphere, the roof is really cool even when the bar isn't open!
Grat place to party. You can relax during day on the rooftop and in the night have fun. Lots of cool pleople from all over the world. The kitchen was nice, altough quite dirty but usefull to cook. Bedrooms haver great lockers and are big enough. The location is perfect at the centre of Santa Marta. Alltough breakast is not included they offer great ones. The bar is quite expensive but not too much, affordable.
The only "party hostel" in the heart of Santa Marta. It has good facilities and is in a beautiful building. That said, there wasn't much partying going on while I was there and the bar prices are somewhat inflated! Still, it's a very good hostel indeed.
Better than I expected for a large hostel! The cheaper non-AC dorm is all you need since a breeze blows through the entire hostel. Great vibes on the roof terrace. The washroom facilities are top notch and always kept clean. For such a big place, the wifi is spot on and it's also a bonus to have your towel included. For the price, you shouldn't have to set your own sheets on the bed. Also, the communal kitchen is rather small and lacking a few essential cooking supplies.
Amazing hostel with the most incredible rooftop bar - feels like a very expensive upmarket bar! It's very chilled out during the day and fun at night. It was very noisy at night in our room so if you're wanting an early night could be a problem. Also a pretty tiny kitchen and our food was stolen from the fridge which was pretty small, if the kitchen was a little bigger this would be the perfect hostel!
The building, with its amplitude and colonial style, is definitely a plus. Really nice atmosphere, with a top floor terrace for partying and quiet spots also. The staff is very helpful. The only thing I didn't like is that you had to buy a lock for the security boxes outside the hostel. Sure, it's really cheap, but still a bother, and the hostel should provide it. All in all, really recommended.
Came for 3 nights. Stayed for 6. Great hostel. One of my favourites so far. Everything a traveller needs thought about. Charging points in the safes. Good showers. Great bar. Stay here.
This is a really cool hostel with great rooftop, bar and really good food in comparison to other hostels. The bathrooms are cleaned often which is nice.
Beautiful hostel. Comfy beds. Great bar and pool. Bathrooms were constantly being cleaned. Only downside is not all rooms have aircon - I sweated up a storm all night and found it hard to sleep.
