Not a bad hostel but there is a very rude girl at the front desk. We made a reservation with her the day we left for parque tayrona so we had a place to stay when we returned. When we got back from the park she said we didn´t have a reservation because we didn´t pay for it, and there wasn´t any other bed available. And for some reason she rudely told me my name was funny. Not a good experience with her at all. She was the only bad person on the staff, everyone else was cool.

Great location. Mediocre staff. Bar tenders spent a lot of time trying to be cool was my impression.

just a party hostel, beyond the limit!!!! Loud music and drunk people shouting till early morning, including the people who actually work there. I just wanted a place to rest and for me it was impossible. For the rest it was ok. If you want to find a bunch of Brits, Aussies, Americans etc to have fun with, great choice. If not, stay away

It is an excellent hostel. They keep your luggage safe and your valuables in a security box (very safe) if you go away for a trip. Bathrooms are cleaned non-stop, and people are very welcoming and friendly. The only negative point: dorms on the first floor are very loud due to the proximity to the bar! suggestion: turn down the music a bit after 1 am cheers anyway had an awesome stay

Central location, great atmosphere and Very Busy hostal. Staff can provide information and book anything you need (Lost City, Minca, Tayrona) Roof terrace with hammocks great, the bar is the life of the hostal which on Thur/Fri/Sat nights can get quite loud and rowdy albeit fun! The music continuing until the early hours of the morning. Dorms spacious, comfortable beds, can get a little warm and loud if near the bar. Wifi great and everywhere. Showers cold and cleaned often. Pool a bonus!

Excellent location - right near the ocean. It can be a little noisy and the rooms are right off the courtyard which felt a little insecure (we didn't have any issues). I would recommend staying here.

I initally booked myself in to La Brisca Loca for two days and ended up staying nine. I absolutely loved this hostel, the dorms were spacious, the food was good, wifi is great, fantastic location (2 mins from the beach), has a pool and a roof terrice laden with hammocks and a great vibe that is helped along by the fantastic staff that were polite, helpful and most importaintly...know how to throw a party!..happy hour decends into madness most nights with the help of Erin and Ryan..i will be back

The staff were exceptional. Friendly , enthusiastic , efficient. I have to say that I have travelled for many years. Both in business and vocation. They are certainly amongst the best staff I have ever encountered. regards David

This is definitely a party hostel and although I was not too thrilled with that, I cannot complain about it or give them a bad review because obviously I knew that before going!!! So booking there was my own fault. I did like the staff, the room was nice, and the atmosphere (minus the part where people yelled at 2 in the morning!!!) was great! It could be cleaner but I did see the cleaning crew working on the bathrooms all the time. Overall, if you are into partying this is the place for you!!!

Bar stuff are great, vibe of the hostel is really cool and it's really well organised- the welcome before is awesome! It's super noisy so if you want to sleep on weekends, bring earplugs!

It's not only a fun place, also a beautiful colonial-style mansion.. Quick turn-over as this hostel is the only reason to stay in Santa Marta, and treat it as a spring board to Tayrona or Guajira

It's a party hostel - so that needs to be what you're after - but I loved my stay here. Staff was fantastic and the roof deck and hammocks are great for sitting in the Colombian sun.

As the bartender told me at 1 AM when I asked him to please turn the music down on New Years Day, this is a party hostel (and no, the music cannot be turned down). Do not bother showing up here if you dont want to be surounded by gringos and brits who prefer to be surrounded in their own culture and smoke weed than explore the locale where they are travelling.

Great place to stay. Has a party hostel feel about it, but apart from one night when there was some loud music for a short while, I slept fine. Great location and great helpful staff.
