Not as crazy as the lp says, a really relaxed hostel, big airy dorms, very very clean and the staff were great. Front desk were beyond helpful in giving directions, advice on wine tours, calling restaurants or booking taxis. Big kitchen has seen better days but still fairly well stocked and clean. A mixed crowd- lots of older people but I think that's just Santiago in general- we still found a group to go out with. Good wifi.

I didnt really liked this hostel. Yes its big and the building looks nice, but its not clean and cheap (breakfast isnt included). im a young girl who likes to party, but the most people in this hostel are old and the hostel doesnt organize any activities neither. The wifi only works in certain areas, but is good and the shower is nice as well. The hostel has an amazing pool and garden, so i bet that in the summer this hostel is a lot of fun but dont go here when the weather isnt that good!

This hostel is clean. The lockers are big. There are phone charge lockers also. Huge hostel. Great to party and also good for sleep. Excellent staff. Big backyard. Huge kitchen. Plenty of chill out areas. Wifi is a little slow but they´re talking about improving it and do you really need to YouTube on vacation (solialise!!!). This place has drawn me back once and I´ll be going back again sometime.

Very pleased with my stay...the ability to be able to cook and refrigerate your food was very convenient.

I like the hostel but the wood floor is too loud when people walk at night. All rooms have a paper stating to respect the others when sleeping but it's impossible to not wake up at night when people arrives from hanging out because of the floor. I think that the cost is high to not have the breakfast included. The location is not so good at night if you want to walk or go to touristic places. The facilities are good but some things are too old and need maintenance, for example the bathrooms.

Building had a lot of character. Big spacious dorms. There was not much of a party crowd when I was here but I could see it being a cool place if there were. Outside area with pool & bar would be great in the summer. Hostel was cleaned everyday but the bathrooms still smelt of Urine, guess its a sewage problem. Enjoyed my stay here, but the down sides were poor internet connection and a family with a crying child early morning!

Yay a cricket net! Loved that bad boy, though our joints not so. The swimming pool was great for cooling off, and I put emphasis on the cooling part. Amazing kitchen, nice and big, with loads of pans and stuff to cook a proper meal. the dorms are big and spacious and apart from the creaky floor the building is great. Second time I have stayed here and I'd stay here again. My girlfriend loved it too. A great place to socialise and chill out.

Nice stay here, the swimming pool area is really nice with the bar and all. You cannot have your own alcohol in the hostel, but it is quite cheap inside anyway. And we didn't have really much problem with noise. Good value.

I would have appreciated if the bar in the swimming pool was open earlier... We can see a guy who's working at the hostel using his computer behind the bar, but the bar it's closed. It's confusing, and a bit disapointing.

Amazing place as my first port of call in SA. Beautiful building obv lovingley restored. Light and airey, spacious and a nice relaxed atmos. Would deffo recommend. Only down fall travel desk not helpful at all and some the recption staff just cant be arsed to help you - however, others are amazing and bend over backwards so swings and roundabout i guess!

More a transit place than a backpacking hostel. The swimmingpool is nothing but perfect in summer. Correct staff. Average location. (30min to station and downtown). 5min to the airport stop bus. Showers just average. a few animations, free internet is a plus. A little bit noisy at night but good

The hostel is really rustic and has a lot of charm. The pool is refreshing during the daytime heat, but bear in mind that it is not heated. The kitchen is huge/well-stocked with pans but fridge space is tight. Walking to the Plaza takes about 25 minutes & the staff, although not warm and cuddly, were willing to help us navigate Santiago. Use the airport transportation service provided, it's much cheaper than the cab we took to get there. The neighboring area has many types of restaurants/bars.

A great hostel with lots of character and large rooms. A good kitchen and a garden with a pool. If you want to party, this is the place for you. If you want quiet restful nights, not the place to be.

I really enjoyed my 3 nights in casa roja santiago.. The hostel has to be the biggest one ive ever seen!! The rooms are massive, amazingly big kitchen, the pool area is great, it has 2 bars one inside and one near the pool, there is a lounge for watching some tv so overall it was a great experience for me.. The only downside for me was the location which was far from the metro and there werent any decent supermarkets nearby so i ended up eating junkfood most of the time as there are plenty:))

The staff at Casa Roja are extremely rude. I asked them to book the TRANSVIP airport shuttle for me, and the proceeded to book their private one instead (which costs 4,000 pesos more). When I insisted that they booked TRANSVIP for me, they refused. I decided to book it myself, but had trouble making the phone call. When I asked for help, they refused once again. I will say though that the private room is very nice. The shared showers, not so much.
