Mompox is great, but really hard to get to. Hostel was great value in excellent location. Eat at El Fuerte.
Only bucket showers were available, however the water was out throughout the whole city, so there isn't anything the hostel could have done about it. The family who owned the place were very unprofessional and made me feel quite uncomfortable. One man who worked there was coming onto me in a way that was very uncomfortable.
Good hostal very conveniently located just one block from the bus station and also in convenient distance from the old center. Mompox is where the story of Gabriel Garcia Marquez' novel "Cronica de una Muerte anunciada" takes place, so also from this point of view Mompox is an interesting place. Good excursions can be made in the areas around Magdalena River.
Simple but good place, very well located. I wish it had a locker for backpacks and valuabes.
Really friendly hosts. very welcoming and helped organize a collectivo ut of Mompos despite language barrier-
