Only had one night at the end of my trip before a flight home, but seemed to be one of the best located hostels I've stayed at in South America, also with the best beds and bathrooms. Would have chosen to here over another highly rated hostel in Santiago at the start of my trip in hindsight

Very friendly staff and an amazing place if you're with a group of people. The hostel is really big but it was kinda empty so if felt weird. The rooms have no key and you should bring you own locker. The location is amazing! Really close to restaurants, bars and clubs and not far from the metro. I felt quite safe walking around.

Nice hostel, located in a great part of Santiago, close to many pubs, clubs and great restaurants, the subway station is a few minutes walking. There are a lot of nice different ambients, rooms are spacious and cozy. The only inconvinient was the unhelper recepcionist when we needed a taxi to the airport. She said wouldn't be possible only one taxi because of our luggage. Then, we got by ourselves the first taxi that passed by just in front of the hostel, and it was cheaper than her suggestion.

Everything was great. The dorm was cozy and it seemed like a great place to hang out and chill, even though we didn't have time to do that. The only thing that wasn't amazing was that we didn't know who the staff were and even when you were walking around the reception looking lost they didn't make themselves known to you.

Hostel is in a good location, with nice beds and decent character. However, the staff was the worst I dealt with in any hostel in South America. They were lazy and seemed annoyed if you asked them for help. I asked them for a map for directions in the city and they said they didn't have any. Turned out they did, it was just too far away from the lady to go get. There are better places to stay in Santiago.

This is a great spot with much character. It's surrounded by great restaurants and wonderful architecture. There's also a spot where you can hike.

The room is very noisy, that is the only bad thing. Apart from that, this hostel is awesome!

Had really great time at la chimba hostel! The walking tour with Niño was great- he showed us around town to places we wouldnt have gone otherwise and was so enthusiastic. Pub crawl was a great way to go out at night - Lucas made sure we were all having fun. Great common room areas for hanging and meeting people. Good kitchen facilities. Great beds! Awesome backyard terrace for lounging and great location - Barrio Bellavista has lots of restaurants and bars

We loved our stay at La Chimba! Our doble room was great and had plenty of natural light and fresh air. The staff were friendly and really helpful. It´s has a great common area which is great for meeting people and swapping stories and tips. It had everything we needed and the location is awesome! I would recommend this place to anyone, and would stay there again if we came back to Santiago.

I stayed in the hostel for few nights, and generally had a good opinion. The staff are very nice and very helpful, and helped arrange or inform about local tours.. They also had a TV with full satellite which is good for sports, etc. Breakfast was ok. Main issue was that the dorm I stayed in (The crashpad) was also access to the room above so had double the traffic through (especially at night). Also, the shower head broke from the en sutie and never seemed to have been fixed.

Wow, we loved this place! The staff were lovely, the location is great, and it has an amazing atmosphere. Lots of space to hang out (both in and outdoors), ample bathrooms with great showers and multiple kitchens. And, the best hostel bed I've ever slept in. Breakfast is a little thin but considering how cheap the rooms are, we had no complaints. If you're part of a larger group, request the Crash Pad! Thanks La Chimba :)

We only stayed here one night, but had a great experience. The staff is great, have tons of recommendations for stuff to do, and speak in both Spanish and English. The hostel is actually three separate houses all connected together to make one big hostel, so it's incredibly easy to meet lots of new and interesting people. Breakfast is also included in the price, which is a huge bonus for me when I'm traveling.

One among many great hostels in the city. I chose it for its great location, in walking distance from all the main day and night spots.

I booked a private double room that was really nice, looks like a 4star hotel and the location is good. The staff are not helpfull or kind, and the wi fi internet works only at the reception area. The cleanliness is very bad, the water on bath was not going down, the I realize it was because the many hair from the last guest that still in the bath, I had to take it out by myself to have a shower, terrible!
