The place is in the heart of Gent. You can reach Graslei (well known meeting point with all restaurants and cafes) within short walk. The building is still in refurbishment process so don't be surprised seeing some unpacked things on your way to the guest's floor. Rooms are clean and have small fridge and TV. Breakfast was really delicious. Seems a bit expensive for young people.

This was a fantastic stay in Gent. Leo was helpful, kind and served a yummy breakfast. The room was spacious, clean, with free wifi and even included a fridge. We highly recommend La Ducale!

We really enjoyed staying at this bed & breakfast. The owners are wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was generous and delicious. A few quirks were evident - some loose baseboards and bathroom repairs underway, but the room was beautifully decorated and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location is great - very central, on a street full of restaurants (which are also worth a visit and reasonably priced). The locks are old-fashioned but the owners are around during the day.

Sadly this venue appears to be in a very sorry state and the pricing for the facilities provided is below standard... The reviews about the people are all true... Leo and others there are fantastic. Where the problem lies is with the below standard venue for the area, at the current pricing... which for the same money can be had a much higher stadard as per other B&B/Guest Houses in the locale. A MAJOR revamp of the venue would be required to tempt me to stay there again.

there is not a sign outside the building, so you have to double check you have the right address! The room and building were lovely, original floorboards and fireplace in the room which is full of character and our balcony had a view to the cathedral. Nice breakfast and it felt like we had our own traditional townhouse for the evening! Nice complementary toiletries too, very posh. Friendly and helpful people, once you find the house!

Although the web site has the wrong contact details for La Ducale, I managed to contact Leo and found the accommodation to be at an excellent standard with very comfortable beds and an excellent breakfast. Highly recommended but contact Leo by email for his correct phone number.
