I cannot recommend this place enough. Fred, our host was warm and went out of his way to provide us with all the information we needed on the city, from getting around, to where to visit and eat. The breakfast ensured we started each day full to the brim. Don't be put off by the tube journey into the centre... It really takes only 10 mins and is connected to Norte Dame, an easy starting point for any day trip out.

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at Maison Bacana while in Paris and could not have been more happy with our choice. After staying at a number of hostels & B&Bs while backpacking through Europe this was by far and away the best. Fred & co were incredibly prepared with recommendations for food, sightseeing and transportation instructions to whatever area of Paris we were looking to go to. We can highly recommend staying at the Maison Bacana! Thanks Fred!

The staying in this hostel was really great and one of happiest memory in Paris. The room was really clean, breakfast was really tasty and the stuffs were really kind that I was able to send packages at post office without problems and to see a movie easily. I was very lucky to find this hostel and meet the really kind and helpful stuffs. Thank you!

After the confirmation of the reservation, we received an e-mail with all information needed about how to get in the B&B, the train lines, the prices and photos and it was pretty easy to arrive because of the information received. The host received us with a coffee and a snack and a lot of information about Paris, places to go, maps and very good tips like alternative entries in the museums to avoid a large queue. The hosts speak Portuguese so it was very good to all of us to understand the tips

Bravo to Fred! for making me and my companions love Paris! Voila is the word! Though a little distance from the centre of Paris, it is worth it as the serenity and tranquility of the accommodation & its surrounding area was priceless. It is readily assessibly from RER C and after a day or 2, one will get used to the Paris Metro/RER system. Fred was so accommodating and knowledgeable & willing to share with us Paris & more. Room was excellent & breakfast was marvelous. Will return for sure!

Thanks for this comment but you should have talk to me about the shower pressure during our morning conversations … it'd have been fixed quickly... The shower pressure in that room has been checked and fixed ( the problem was about the hot water balloon…) I hope we ll have the pleasure to have you back in our b&b one day! best regards to you and Kate . Fred.

Oh my goodness this review is so late, but I hope still helpful. This was a great stay with Fred! I loved the atmosphere of the house, especially the kitchen/dining room. Fred is a very thoughtful and experienced host. He is very caring towards the efforts put forth in helping you have the best time during your stay. Definitely worth the medium/high price of a couple night's stay. Would recommend this 'just out of the city limits' B&B to anyone. The neighborhood's top! Nice job LaMaison Bacana!

The owner was so friendly! Had a beer with us when we arrived, and then suggested lots of places to go in Paris. Every morning over breakfast (which is amazing, by the way) he would talk to the guests and point out local restaurants or interesting places around where we planned to visit. Notre Dame is a 15 train ride away (trains roughly every 30 minutes). Friendliest place I've ever stayed in, certainly raises the bar for B&B's.

Fred is super friendly and very helpful in getting you familiar with the city, sites to see and the metro. Breakfast is really good and it's a two min walk to the train station which gets you into the heart of Paris on a train that takes less than 15mins. No issues at all, would stay again for sure.

Great staff, great atmosphere, although it was a bit far from the centre, every 20 minutes or so were trains which got you fast there. As it was in not a touristic spot, there were many bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies and very affordable places to eat. All in all great.

We had a wonderful stay with Fred at La Maison. He was very friendly and helpful. He also helped us plan our sightseeing trips which made our stay in Paris so much better. It is the perfect place to stay with children also, Fred even provided many DVD's for them to watch in the evenings. The breakfast each morning was beautiful! Well done Fred on providing such a wonderful service, we miss you!
